I picked up this guy at an estate sale 18 months ago. Up until six months ago it was doing well, now half the leaves are yellow. I suspect it's too crowded in the pot, but I'm not sure.

I've looked for larger than 6" pots but there don't seem to be many, and none were attractive. So before I split the baby into a second pot, I thought I'd ask for some sage direction here so I don't kill it.

And yes, I feel awful for neglecting it. Thanks in advance for the help.

Actually, that pot is considered too big for the plant. The general rule is the pot should be 1/3 the diameter of the plant, as measured from leaf edge to opposite side leaf edge. If it has been in the pot for 18 months, it most likely needs fresh potting soil. Take it out of the pot, shake off as much of the potting soil you can, then you can either put it back in the same pot, or a smaller pot. Add 50% perlite to the soil mix you use when repotting the AV.
