Hello, I’m fairly new to hydroponics, started in March and through a lot of trial and error I have some good growth going on some of my plants, but I worry if my lights are too close to my plants. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. They’ll tell you if they are lol. Just make small adjustments and give it a few days to see if you get leaf canoeing or bleaching.

They say to hold the back of your hand at the height of the plant for 30s and if it gets uncomfortable, then the heat might be too much. That’d for cannabis anyway, so it’s prob different for other herbs and veggies.

You broccoli may want more light. Mine grew up right through my fixed lights. You may want to fill the few holes in the bucket lid to cut down on algae.

The led lights above the broccoli are off in this photo, but as long as the lights were not touching leafs, they seemed happy.

I definitely recommend adjustable height lights since broccoli does grow tall and can be fast.
