Hi, noob here trying to figure out what's going wrong with my first 24x18x36" viv build.
First pic is right after initial planting (last November). The rest are all a snapshot of what things look like currently.
I'm hoping to put R. Sirensis in eventually, but really want to figure out what's going wrong with plant growth before I think about adding animals.
I've noticed most plants dying back significantly (or in a couple cases, completely), with only a couple seeming to thrive and produce significant new growth. The Pellaea, Pilea sp. Chartruese, and Ficus radicans have fully died off, and the Pilea repens and mystery purple Gesneriad (pics 13/14) seem to be the only things putting out significant new growth.
Misters are set to 30 seconds 4 times a day. I've played around with different ventilation sizes/fan on time, but it seems like pretty much no matter what I do the back stays relatively dry, while the ABG floor stays damp/waterlogged.
The bottom is a layer of 1.5-3" filter foam, with a pump on a timer to keep it fully drained. I'm wondering if there may be some hidden wicking issue (e.g. where there are gaps in the foam), but I haven't been able to confirm.
Lights on top are a combination of two 150W LEDs and an 18W aquarium light.
I'd love to get a more lush/fully grown looking viv, so any tips on where to go from here would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Does it have a mesh top?
Im having the same problem. About to replant but I want to find my issue first !
Iโd try putting a bunch of dead sphagnum in crevices and wherever you can. That helps me retain moisture for longer. I soak them daily.
