Ive never used adhesive tape, but I have made splints to keep the petiole straight and wrapped it in grafting tape with good success. Some fresh cuts did heal back together and some it just postponed the inevitable for a few months. If it was fresh and you were able to match up both ends back exactly, I’d say you have a chance

Yes and it works. I’ve used floral tape.

The straw trick usually works, I’ve also never used tape like that but hopefully it works!
