Any ideas on what I can plant behind the shed to block some of the apartment building behind our property? For privacy and also for resale value down the line.
There’s not much room between the shed and fence, maybe 6-7ft.
If you want to block the view of the building, you need to plant closer to where you are taking the photo from. You would need a tree that would be thirty feet tall but only have 3 feet wide branches. While the shed is cute, usually gardens aren’t landscaped so the main viewpoint is focused on a shed. Consider planting trees and gardens in front of the shed and have those as the vocal point.

I’d never recommend anyone plant an alianthus but it would fill that hole faster than anything else, still 6 years though

So, I’m guessing that that is your electrical service line over the shed. Your screwed my friend, for you need vegetation clearance from that line for fire/grounding reasons,You might be able to have a small shrub but probably nothing taller than the shed. The only option is to plant something right next to your window to block the view. I’d suggest a variety of bamboo, for it will cover the view completely in 2-3 years. But be aware that there’s some root / rhizomes management that has to be done to prevent it from becoming invasive.

That building is at least five stories high, there’s nothing that will block that. As others have said I’d plant something a few away from this vantage point. A line of arborvitaes or something that blocks the neighbors from seeing you, not the other way around.
