I have a fairly large plant collection with some semi-rare plants and some very large plants, but nothing I would consider rare…. I just bought some variegated Micans from local grower. Is this considered rare? What entry level rare plants do you all recommend?

nothings truly “rare”, you don’t need to have “rare“ plants in your collection. just grow what you like to grow
Beautiful plant!! You don’t necessarily need any rare plants to be a plant parent. Just collect plants that bring you joy, and that suit what conditions you have to offer. Some are more needy than others and require different humidity, lighting conditions. Just have fun collecting and watching them thrive 💚
I’d say yes – I have a variegated Micans as well labeled as “Ferrari Micans” but read somewhere it’s just an aurea kind of Micans, looks similar to yours and was quite pricey… Never saw them before a local plant seller introduced it to me so I guess that type belongs to the rare ones… Not as rare as the pink variegated Micans though from what I’ve read on Reddit mainly
Whatever plants you have that do good where you’re at, buy the rare version of that. All these basic bitches have rare cousins
