2-3 days after I used an humidifer for a full 24 hours close to Sasha. Is it mold or fungus ? Her leaves were drenching wet so I cut it completely off & boom !! Her leaves were droopy & then I cut it back on & leaves started to rise. I’m confused

My soil used to do that too.. looked like it was moldy/fungusy.. I was able to obtain Springtails from an old roommate and that honestly was life saving – they eat mold and mildew, which also helps prevent root rot ☺️ weird thing to look into, but I recommend Springtails to everyone who owns Calatheas

Mold is fungus. It happens when there is too much moisture, not enough air flow, soil isn’t draining well, etc, so hard for me to say what the cause is for you but I’d let it dry out quite a bit since you said the leaves were dripping wet. I know calatheas are touchy but I don’t have mine being humidified and it is doing fine. I only water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry and then I water thoroughly… I water until I see it draining into the drain plate. So for me, watering less often but thoroughly seems to work well.

    Good luck!

That is mould and means the soil is staying wet too long. I wouldn’t use a humidifier unless you have some sort of can or airflow as well. That could be from an air conditioner or a heater, whatever, but the air needs to be moving. Personally I don’t use a humidifier and I let mine dry out almost completely between waterings.
