I love this owl pot, but I wanted to check with more experienced AF growers for their input before potting. I was thinking I could add more perlite to the AF mix, & use a bit of self watering wick since the bottom of the pot is concave to better regulate watering. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance

AF does not stand for African Violet, unless you want to call us “experienced as fuck.” Which some of us are.
This pot looks too small for the violet yet. You could put the plant in a smaller plastic pot and use the owl pot as a cache pot.
I have a few of this cute owls. I use it as a cache pots. Its easier for me to repot on plastic pots because its a nightmare digging the violet on the curve side of owl once the rootball take shape of the pot. . With plastic pot, a gentle squeeze will free up the rootball in a sec. But you may have different ideas how you can manage and execute your plan so never hurt to try. Goodluck!🤗
Edit: It’s supposed to be AV, I didn’t notice it said AF 😅
They do like to be roots bound. If it gets too big, take leaves off carefully. Place in a pot, barely touching the dirt. I keep stem on to enable it to at least stay up.
These replant easily, if no water is added! Only water from the bottom, and let that stay for a bit, make sure all water has been absorbed for 2 days or so, and add water to the tray. Never water the soil directly. So, you can keep one in the owl but keep fewer leaves on it.
The drainage doesn’t seem real great. I think in a perfect situation it would go in a little tiny nursery pot that would sit inside.
This way when you need to water your plants, you can take them out of the pretty pot water them good and then set them back in.
I’ve seen some pretty small nursery pots online, but I don’t know what it would look like inside this little owl pot
Don’t transplant, just sit the nursery pot in it if fits. Thank me later
