Re-planted my first vivarium due to plant craziness. Decided to remove all the Creeping fig and pilea as it somehow started growing in the mesh top and out of the tank lol (maybe could’ve been avoided if i was consistent with trimming).
Added lots of small marcgravia clippings around the tank instead. Much smaller and slower growing so will fill in the empty spaces over time. Doesn’t look too extravagant to start with but love how they look once they’re established.
Also added a piece of mopani wood which makes a nice centre piece rather than empty space in the middle. Squeezed some Christmas moss in the cracks which if kept really wet in the first month or so should thrive nicely.
Put some botanicals and leaves on the moss floor for extra detail along with a few extra bromeliads near the top as eventually want this tank to house some oophaga pumilio.
Had to keep the verrocossum – amazing plant which struggled at first but is starting to settle in. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated 😀
