As stated in the title. I’m looking for everyone’s opinions on best bridgesii clone or type for high humidity. Would love to here from some other growers in the humid southeastern states on what’s your least prone to humidity ‘complications’

I’ve found that the biggest issue for humidity is shade. If you give them a ton of light, they’ll suck up as much water as you can give them!
All mine are pretty similar in terms of humidity scars, but the ones that are less in the sun have a noticeably worse time resisting. They LIVE for sunlight, and added inorganic for drainage may as well be the motto of this sub.
Not Jiimz Twin, it has done the worst of my bridges this summer (very wet).
I’m looking at planting some bridgesii crosses and looking for any that may be more resistant. Most crosses I am looking at would have the bridgesii as the father so just looking for recs.
My tpm x n1 (hybrid) has 0 issues same with my melti bridge x mystic Peru and surprisingly my Kate’s bridge has like 1 black spot – Florida outdoor/ greenhouse
Bro whatttttt lol “ Tito” been growing mine for a year now

It comes down to 75-80% inorganics for killer drainage, and airflow. More airflow, less issues. Humidity can be mitigated quite a bit like this.
Bridge heavy crosses may be the way for you if those cannot be done
I have a seed grown kaktus koehres bridge that has barely reacted to the humidity at all. I’m in the North East
I’ve faced this same issue and have gotten rid of any bridgesii in my garden that had an issue with high humidity. My list of bridgesii / bridgesoid keepers are: Psycho0, Lumberjack, Eileen, Kai, Appalachia, Mana, and Magnus (from Eastern Star Cactus), H1, Shulgin Bridgesii (From Skip Jones), Jada, Oceanside 02, and Sal’s Blue. I’ve also grown a batch of SS02 x Landfill and kept all the yearlings that grew well in high humidity and I have a Tig x Yowie cross which does well.
I’m in Houston and Jada Bridgesii and Kate’s Bridgesii are literally perfect
They really aren’t from somewhere super humid. If it’s very humid then the soil is going to be more moist, I’d counter it with like 80% gravel/perlite/pumice and 20% soil and see what that does. Less nutrients rich soil means more frequent nutrient water feedings but if you R.Kelly them (my Bridgesiis absolutely love da peepee) or Alaska fish fertilizer, I don’t see what the big difference would be for health.
All of mine have been affected by this humidity but I have one Sharkxx grown from seed that has much longer spines than the others and is also more blue, and that guy is handling it amazing.
Fabric pots, less organic material, not too much shade
Can’t go wrong:)
I’m from the Netherlands where it rains all the time. I sometimes have a few tiny black spots on bridges if its wet for long, but nothing nasty.
Also make sure they have enough calcium and magnesium,
I think calcium is the more important one.
And as much as I love CSD, I’ve seen it being wiped out by humidity a lot.
As to actual recommendations
Perhaps psycho0 and SS02 are bridges that do well in my garden:)
Eileen
My Tripp’s Nibbler and Omen both do really well here while my TBMb looks like it had measles haha
Eileen, Hawaiian Bridgesii, Jada, Garden of the Ancients, Tig x Eileen are a few that do well for me on the Mississippi gulf coast with no supplemental airflow.
Humid NC grower here. Your best bet is to go for hybrids. Lumberjack, Oceanside, Jada etc. All great performers. That said, my straight SS02 is a beast and has never had any issues with humidity.
Psycho0, SS02 and any bridgesii cross with those in it.
Yo, I got one of those mushrooms in a planter too
With humidity watch out for slugs. The bastards have terminated several of my tips. I treat for em and i swear its rained the next day both times.
