Hi! Just wanted to ask for help if these bugs are safe for my plant or should I do anything to remove them. My avocado is also kind of wilting which might be due to other reasons but I wanted to know if these bugs might affect the health of my avocado.

I water it only when the soil is dry. Mostly every 2 or 3 days. I am also using purified water for my avocado. It gets sun since it sits beside a huge window.

Also, I’m new to planting/gardening. Thank you!

  1. Soil mites or springtails, hard to tell from the video but looks more lite soil mites, or both. They are harmless beneficial, eats decaying matter. Good to have around.

You’ve got basic soil mites. They’re not a danger to the plant, they eat organic matter in the soil and their pee and poop is fertilizer.

Soil mites – One of the ideal ingredients of a beneficial living soil.

Too many can be harmful. I would let it dry out or repot to decrease the numbers since you have very many. Personally, I only see them when I water and I see a handful run to the surface. Just my opinion, but the yellowing leaves are a red flag. Which could be also lack of fertilizer, but you have a ton of critters there! Best of luck!
