Minecraft has just announced some scary news for fans of the game, with the addition of a new eerie biome and some new mobs. Don’t be too frightened, though. It’s not Jason Momoa dressed in a pink leather jacket coming to bash in your skull.

During their Minecraft Live broadcast, Mojang announced a new biome called The Pale Garden, which is said to be eerie, creepy and spooky in both looks and sounds. The Pale Garden also brings with it a new mob, The Creaking. A spooky-looking oak tree character that only moves when you’re not looking at it. The only way to defeat The Creaking is to find its heart block, hidden somewhere within the gardens.

Of course, the new biome also contains new blocks for crafters to farm and use to decorate their bases. Pale Oak and Hanging Moss blocks will be available for users to pop into their backpacks and use back at home, if they can escape The Creaking, that is.

The update also includes a new “drop” titled Bundles of Bravery, which adds a hardcore mode to Bedrock editions of the game and a bundles feature that allows gamers to keep their inventory no matter how they choose to play.

The update will be “coming soon” to snapshots, previews and beta versions of the game.
