I have no significant reason to doubt what I was told a couple years ago except that it just doesn't look much like one to me from what I can find online. Thing is that I'm not so experienced, so if it's just a matter of my plant being immature, I wouldn't necessarily be able to tell.

PS. Flowers never seem to open up in a practical way (i.e. for use of pollen or stigmas)- not sure if worth noting, but figure it wouldn't hurt..
