I saw these on a hike this morning in a wooded area near a pond in Massachusetts. Sorry for the slight blur in the photos, but does anyone know what these are? Thanks in advance.
likely a Pale yellow touch-me-not, Impatiens aurella

Jewel Weed – my go to remedy for when I come in contact with Poison Ivy.
Simply crush up the stems and leaves to release the juices and rub anywhere you believe to have come in contact with Poison Ivy and viola no weeks long miserable itchiness and potential scarring.
Works better than and poison ivy soaps or creams and usually grows everywhere poison ivy grows!

Jewel weed, the little seed pods will spring open and throw their seeds if you put a bit of pressure on them.

Jewelweed is my favorite plant. Everything about them is so lovely.
– native to my area and plentiful
– whimsical orange flowers
– exciting seed pod pops
– main pollinator is hummingbirds
– antidote for poison ivy
– if you put the leaves underwater, the backs of them look super cool and shiny, almost like mercury

I have a ton of Jewel Weed around my house, as well as poison ivy. The bees love the orange glowers.

Thanks to EVERYONE who responded. I appreciate it!
Jewelweed! Sometimes you’ll find them a more pure yellow, but your find is the most common color. Excellent for making an ointment for poison ivy and other rashes.

Fellow Mass resident here, I just wanna chime in that if this is somewhere easily observable, I would suggest actually monitoring this plant, because I can vouch that hummingbirds absolutely love it! In fact, I saw a hummingbird feeding from some where I am just a few minutes ago! I unfortunately don’t have a pic from today, but I do have one from last year (August 2024) of one feeding on the same plant.
I love these guys, hiking in ct this time of year I notice lots of orange “weeds” in bloom, I refer to it as orange weed season. They are beautiful and I did not know they were til today. Thanks for asking and thanks to those who answered.

Here’s an article about them: [Orange Jewelweed (Impatiens capensis)](https://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/wetland/plants/or_jewelweed.htm)
They’re annuals.
