So I'm brand new to paludariums, and I have a 10g with 1 red claw crab in it. She tends to stick to land but I figured she should have a very gentle water bubbler just in case, as I don't want her water going stagnant. (I'm not sure if this counts more as a terrarium with a pyrex dish than a paludarium?)

Either way: I'm so so so worried about her climbing the airline tubing and escaping, right now the holes in the lid are closed off with a plastic mesh (like you use for crafts) and electrical tape to seal the sides.

I know red claws can be surprisingly strong and smart, is there any way to set this up better so she can't climb out as easily? Thank you so much for any advice!

btw, I know the air pump setup is kind of nuts, but it was Way too strong without something diverting it, so I popped an air stone on the other side. I don’t think that would cause any issues, but let me know if there’s a better way! The air pump isn’t adjustable

  2. There are air manifolds that you can set a valve for each of the air lines, I did this for the same reason bleed of some of the extra pressure, of your air stone works great, v of you want to neck it down now or have more control you can try the manifold. I can’t speak for the crabs but it’s looks like you have it sealed well,
