Hi there folks! Got this Moon Cactus in 2021 when I was very much so a plant newbie and didn't know that they were grafted plants and aren't supposed to have a long lifespan.

I was reading online that if the top portion starts to rot you're supposed to chop that part off and the bottom part will start growing a new arm. Is the top of this one at that point? Or should I leave it be still? Doesn't appear to be that mushy.

It's sister plant (the yellow one in the second photo that I bought at the same time) doesn't appear to be turning brown at all and the yellow part just seems to be getting bigger.

Water schedule & care: Water every 2-3 weeks or whenever I remember to, I always let it dry right out between waterings. Repot once a year & fertilize. My apartment is very dry and not humid. This plant sits in direct sunlight for most of the day. I believe it's in some standard Miracle Grow cactus soil mix right now!

I would take those large pups off the gymno and graft them onto something else. Then I’d remove the main gymno from the root stock if you want to keep the root stock. But the main gymno looks really rough.
