This is growing very slowly, but seems healthy to me. In a very gritty mix probably 60-70% grit (course silica sand, pumice, perlite) 25% coco coir/fox farms ocean forest mix, 5-10% charcoal rice husks.

I water when the pearls just begin to start to get soft, but try not to wait too long until they deflate.

The lighting conditions are basically identical between the top and bottom.

Any advice appreciated!!

    I don’t know why they’re pale but you said the lighting conditions are about the same for top and bottom… but does the bottom look like it’s starting to get pale? I see some areas that look similar to the pale green in the top plant. Are you sure they’re getting enough light?

  2. SOPs do better in a richer soil, I find. Closer to 60-70 soil/40-30 grit. There probably aren’t enough nutrients in that mix for them.
