Olive Garden soup fans are in for a little — nay, extremely large — treat.

All over social media, people are discovering a soup-based hack: while you can get your fill of unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks in-store, you can also take home your fill of minestrone, too — in a big ol’ bucket.

“Do y’all know what this is?” a TikTok user named Rachel says in a June 25 video, holding a very large bucket. “That was a gallon of pasta e fagioli soup from Olive Garden.”

She writes in the caption that it’s “the biggest steal out there,” and explains the video that she spent $30 for 12 servings of soup as well as breadsticks and mints. “Are you kidding me right now? I’m so happy.”

And she is far from the only fan of this Olive Garden hack: On TikTok, Instagram and Reddit, many customers show off their buckets filled with Pasta e Fagioli, Zuppa Toscana, Minestrone or Chicken and Gnocchi.

While the hack has been shared on social media for years — posts on the subject have appeared as far back as 2019 — many social media users have only just discovered it this year.

“They gave me all of these breadsticks because I bought that soup,” social media personality “Julia Goolia” says while showing off her gallon of soup and accompanying 20-count box of breadsticks.

Of course, Olive Garden is happy people are taking advantage of its bulk offerings.

“We’re thrilled to see TikTok shining a light on Olive Garden’s Catering menu, which offers a wide variety of Olive Garden favorites perfect for family gatherings, office parties and more,” and Olive Garden representative tells TODAY.com, adding that the eatery’s soups are available by the gallon or half-gallon.

How to Order a Bucket of Soup From Olive Garden

If you want a bucket of your very own, here’s how you get one:

On the website’s catering menu, choose whether you want carside pickup or delivery.Scroll down to the “Soups, Salads & Breadsticks” menu and choose from its 6-serving Homemade Soups or 12-Serving Homemade Soups Large option (a gallon of the good stuff). After choosing your soup flavor, add it to your cart. The website will ask you to choose your pickup date and time.Lastly, all you need to do is checkout and head to your local Olive Garden for all that soupy goodness. How Much Do Olive Garden’s Soup Buckets Cost?

Prices vary by restaurant, but at the chain’s Times Square, New York location, its 6-serving soup option was $20.29, or $3.38 a serving, and its 12-serving option costs $31.99, or $2.67 a serving.

Compare that with how much one serving of to-go soup costs at that location — $11.29 — and that’s a heck of a price differential.

Unfortunately, soup buckets don’t automatically come with breadsticks, but customers can add a 6- or 12-count of baked or unbaked breadsticks from the catering menu for an additional cost. In the NYC area, prices ranged from $5.49 to $8.29.

And it’s worth noting that the chain offers more than just soup in bulk: You can get pans of Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Parmigiana, as well as meal combinations that include house salads, breadsticks and “Create Your Own Pasta” stations with multiple pasta types, sauces, toppings and more.
