the best edible flower that actually tastes delicious 😋(bee balm/ monarda didyma)

Have you ever heard of edible flowers? Well, guess what? There’s quite a long list of them actually, including zenas and sunflowers, the petals, and obviously the seeds. Unfortunately, many of the edible flowers actually taste awful. However, this one which is big favorite of the bees you might be able to hear buzzing around and is absolutely named bee balm. This is in my opinion the most delicious and when it’s happy the most prolific edible flower you can grow. You can see here these are all the open flowers and then underneath here this one’s a bit old. There’s a row of flowers that are going to come tomorrow or the next day. So, it’s kind of perpetually blooming. It looks like a firework going off. It comes in pink and red and purple. And it’s in the mint family, so it makes runners. So, under here in the ground, there’s going to be lots of white running roots. There’s one in there. See? Running around just like mint. It’s not as pushy and naughty as mint in your garden, but you still be careful where you plant it. So, I would if you can try and buy one in a pot from a nursery or find someone who’s got one and take a bit from the ground. You can buy seeds, but they’re tiny and quite tricky to start. So, if you can get yourself some bee balm, also called monada dimema, you’ll be eating perennially, which means every year delicious edible flowers with a flavor like basil and honey, and sometimes they’re a bit spicy. So, enjoy edible flowers. for our petites.
