  1. Cutleaf groungcherry. AKA Wild gooseberry. Toxic when eaten and IS considered a weed.

    Ground cherry for sure. Local plant that very few people know about. Looks like you’ve got a decent amount of fruit coming in, so wait until the cases turn papery and the fruit turns golden-yellow, then try all of them and make fun of your friends who don’t know what they are or that they’re endemic and native.
    Do not eat unidentified plants based on reddit comments, but it’s a tasty sweet local fruit that I grow on purpose.

    Definitely not tomatillos. That one comment Chinese lantern might be the correct name but I heard a name I don’t recall and the word ballon was in it. Just a weed. Wish I still had one I pulled out of the watermelon patch in my garden as I seen them before I started using the google search bar to the right is a cam button click on it and take the image and it will pull it up for you. Make sure you get every detail in the image
