Just started noticing a few of these hydrangea-looking bushes this summer in Tacoma WA. The blossoms are very distinctively cone shaped, or like a dog’s snout, and most are white with a couple pinkish that I’ve seen. The individual flowers are smaller and more delicate than the typical hydrangea. They’re pretty!

I have a plant called Zinfin Doll and another one called Vanilla Strawberry. They’re both pinkish. And then there is one that’s light green and it’s called Little Lime. Of the three plant, only Little Lime has one head. All the buds were eaten up by deer. I look forward to seeing them every summer but I never get to see them. So sad.

Hydrangea paniculata. Could be variety Sundae Fraise or Candlelight.

They’re called panicles, but “snout” is more fun.
