Okay, the bed I’m currently working on clearing out and placing things in as I clear out. But of course, you know, I still have to go through as I put things down. I’m pretty much the only areas that I needed this This area has a problem with this pantry and it keeps uh seating over here. So, I’m trying to decide exactly what I want to do. I may just cover this over with cardboard for a year and mount it down just to get rid of some of these um these seedlings that I can’t let them die out. But I have been putting things down here. Most of these things I’ve gotten either they were either gifted to me. They were plants on their last leg and they were gifted to me or um I got them on clearance at Lowe’s or I bought them at a discount at Home Depot. And um so they aren’t in the best shape now, but the end result was they come back and probably next year you’ll be able to see the difference next year. They’re going to be beautiful. And this is an example of that. A lot of these plants here I bought. Like these were gifted to me. They were on their last leg. In fact, most of them were brown with a little bit of green left. And I was able to bring them home, nurse them back, put them in the ground, and now they’re flowering. Um, and a lot of this stuff I’ve shopped my yard as well. And I just placed in this bed. And of course, I still have to do some more uh cutting back in here as well. Uh, but you can get the idea. And this is the bed I’m currently working on. These are this is the bed that I’m actually putting flowers in now and that I’m weeding in now. My brother actually cleared that other side for me. And I haven’t gotten over there yet, but I did put a few things over there since he had an area cleared for me. But, um, this is what it looks like. And that is the water feature that I created. And of course, um, I have to fill it up. The water’s not in there now. I’ll come back and let you guys see it later. Uh, and this is another bed that I created from all clearance uh clearance items from and I just moved that. So, it’s going through shop. That’s a gardinia. Moved it from one side over where I have the climbing rose over there now. That’s where this one was. So, I moved it to place that there so that I can create a walkway because this front yard is eventually going to be boxed off with boxwoods and probably some type of picket fencing. So, um I wanted to have an entryway from the front door into the garden because there’s going to be a swing and everything else as well. Well, this is the vision anyways. We’ll see as soon as um we’ll see as time progresses. But um all of these items will occur, which is how I’ve been getting my garden put together. Uh going to Lowe’s and any of the nurseries around me. Night nursery. Had some some really really good items there as well. Um that I got actually all of the free plants that I received I received from Night Nursery in Mcdana, Georgia. Beautiful place. They also have a market in the inside where you can buy fresh um fresh fruits and vegetables and ground nuts and things like that. Um but this is the area. Of course, I’m still creating this bed. This area has not been cleaned yet, but this is the area that I have cleaning. I’m doing it in pieces as I get plants. I’m clearing and mulching. Of course, I have to go back and mulch that back area. I just planted there. So, I have to mulch. You see the grass is growing in. So, I need to mulch soon. And um I’m thinking maybe late fall when I do a tour, you’ll be able to really see the beauty of this area once everything fills in. Um what I have in here is Veronica Garden Flocks. I had lavender, but it looks like my lavender is dying back. We’ll see what happens. I have a chameleia and two rose bushes. have African white liies of course a row of bush of gardinas which is going to be the hedge for this area and dwarf coropsis in the front. There are a few salvia um pink profusion and I can’t remember what the other one was but it smells really good up here. Um of course there’s some red autumn sage in between their burst of red is what I was going for. I hope it looks the way that I envisioned it. Um, but we’ll see as time progress. Um, and of course there’s a a purple grass on the end down there to kind of give me some grass. I think I want to put a different grass there. I’m not sure. We’ll see as time goes. But I really like I love that grass. I just don’t know if I want it in this bed. Um, this was also a bed over here um that has overgrown. I’ve had a few um issues to where I wasn’t able to really get out the way I need to and take care of and this bed has just been overrun. So, I’m going to have to rethink this bed and decide what I want to do with it. But, of course, you can see the rose bushes and all of the things that are coming out through all the weeds. I’m just going to have to go over there. And it’s really really root bound over there and that’s really the issue. So, I’m going to have to make a decision on how I’m going to make that bed work with all of the roots from my neighbor’s tree and my tree and some other things that are going on over there. Um, this is a bed that I’m considering also to just go ahead and cover with cardboard and let some of the the the stuff die back and then mulch down as it dies back. And then um see what I have over there. I know that there are um irises and liies and um of course there’s some cone flour over there. There’s gar, of course there’s purple grass over there. There’s a few things over there. So what I may do is the things that are already up, I may just mulch around those, clear as much as I can, and then lay down the cardboard and let the cardboard do its thing as far as the weed is concerned, and then deal with that bad on next year. But I may record myself laying down the cardboard for that area. These were some transplanted gar. Now I know they look bad now. And of course there’s a couple of mums and things in here. But these beds all have to be re uh cleaned and redone, but I’m just giving you guys um a look at what happens to a garden when you neglect it. Of course, um I had a few deaths in the family and I’ve been going through a little bit of depression and grief. So, there are some things that I let fall by the wayside. Um it’s been six months since I lost my mom and maybe about a month. I don’t even think it’s been a month since I lost um one of my cousins who grew up next to me, like a sister. and it um and of course I lost an uncle within a year’s time. So um a little bit of grief and depression kind of kicked in along with my mom’s cancer fight and all of that stuff. So maybe about two or three years of neglect have kind of gotten my yard to this point and I’m in the process of rehabilitating not only my garden but my spirit. And I’m hoping that because gardening is one of the things that I love that it can help me heal and get on the other side of grief as well. So, I’m getting the energy to get out here and do the things that I need to do. That’s my climbing rose. My mini climbing rose is being is being choked out by something some type of weed. I got to get up here and clear that out. That might be something I do this weekend. That’s something easy I can do and see results soon. And that’s another issue. um being overwhelmed by all of the things that are happening and um getting out here and doing some work and not being able to see the results like with this one. I just took it piece by piece and I really wasn’t seeing the results and I was getting frustrated and my brother came to me and he said, “Oh my god, you know, I went out there.” He said, “I was a little shaky at first, but I’m starting to see the color.” And I wrote in um some running errands one day and I saw the color in this bed and how it stood out. You can see the water feature trying to do its thing. Um I saw the color of the pinks and the yellows and the blues and the purples and and how it stood out. Um and it gave me a renewed hope that um to continue to keep going. And of course this area this side of the bed has to be clean. Now this is a new path that I was laying And I was a little iffy about it. So I stopped mid path. I stopped mid creation to decide if I wanted to do and I think I do. But the issue is that um the bush here I can’t remember the name of his name now but these are all day liies and pasta. So of course you know my yard was at a pristine point at one time. It was a very beautiful yard. But now, like I said, just getting on the other side of I forget what they call these things. The little Christmas berry bush. I can’t think of the name of it right now, but it is it has gotten really really big where it was a smaller bush at one time before. So, um it may get in the way of this walkway, but I may be able to just kind of cut it back and let it do its thing and then see if this walkway is still feasible. But I think I do. Of course, I have a rose bush there that I think I’m going to remove and place in another area. I’m thinking this other area over here, but I’m not sure if it’s enough sun, but I don’t think it’s getting enough sun here, especially when um other things start to take over. Um but a lot of things in this area I’m having to kind of let grow out to see exactly what it is because it’s been so long since I’ve been out here, I forget what’s where. So, I’m letting things grow out so I can see and then I’m cutting as I realize it’s something that I don’t want or do want and things of this sort. And of course, it’s a bunch of yo and irises and dillies and uh things in here that I can obviously see that I do want here. There’s some sedum in there. Uh but of course, I got to get in here and get the grass out. Um this is just the front area. Um this yard is a mess, you guys. Um, this was my u hydrangeanger and of course popcorn drift here of course with a few geraniums and things mixed in. So this is a bed that I can do this weekend as well to kind of get it cleaned up to see um to see some results of course blue shoes salvia in a pot. I haven’t decided where I wanted it to go. So, it’s just kind of been in a pot and she’s performing beautifully. She’s asking for attention. Hey girl. Um, and this is a bed that I cleaned out and just kind of let the leaves fall in and I covered it with some mulch to kind of dry out the leaves for a while cuz I’m not going to do anything over here for a minute. But it looks like I do have some cosmos coming up in that area which I know was over there was some here before and of course some sedum. But we’ll see what else is coming in. I don’t know what that is but that’s coming out. whatever that tree is in those bushes back there. I’ll get my electric saw and cut those things down very very soon. And I had to figure out how to get those roots up. Boxwoods of course. Um black ey susans. Um there summ of course crepe myrtle that I was using as small little bushes back here. But I think that they are too aggressive for this area. So, they may have to come out. Um, of course, there is some peies in here. White pianies uh behind me. I don’t even know what these is. I think the these are weed. They just kind of came up from somewhere and they need to come out as well. But you can kind of see the beauty of what’s going on in this area, but uh not completely. Um, but you get the idea of what it looks like. Of course, boxwoods, my magnolia. There’s got to be some things going up underneath the magnolia as well. And then so it’s my vegetable/ wild wildflower garden over in this area as well. There was a pergola here that has been torn down and is going to be replaced. But with what I don’t know as of yet, um I’m seriously considering a pool for my son so that he can have some recreation at home and we don’t always have to go out to do things. Um, another sitting area. This grass needs to be cut, but it’s wet, so it won’t get done today. Um, with uh gladiololis, what is that? I want to say that’s cat. Of course, it’s a mess here. Um, Superina I believe in this thing along with Gladiololis. Yeah, Superina Sunburst. Superina cherry burst and something else that’s in there. Of course, these are some of the plants that I kind of I look like I need to cut them back a little bit more and then um feed them again so that they can get a little bit bushier. But they are making it. They were actually all of them look like this when I got them. And with the cutting back, they look like they’re doing a a good job of trying to come back. But I see I got some new growth coming down in there. So I’ll come in and I’ll cut those back again. Sitting area that um I needed to lay some plastic down. So of course I moved the chair so that I can do that. But I’m rethinking if I want to do that so close to the vegetable garden. So that’s a if that’s iffy. And this was a way uh bed because this is the walkway from the seating area, the back seating area that I showed you up to the other garden. Um I don’t know if I wanted to come all the way down and just stop here. But I have a few trees I need to get rid of that actually this tree was cut all the way down to the stump and um my saw went out and I was wasn’t able to get um my drill bit to drill in so that I could put some root killer in it. And of course it’s come back with a vengeance. So it’s going to have to be cut back again. Got to get the saw fixed again. Um but of course over there coropsis zenas what else is in that bed? Uh oh. I believe that’s it. And some um gladias, but the gladias have already um had their blooms in a completely overrun garden bed garden. Um I don’t even know if there’s you can even see what’s in here. Of course, the Zenas have taken over with the greens. Look at their tomatoes in the bottom there. Um, cucumber, cucumber, uh, peppers. So, this is probably something I can do today, too. Get in here and get at least one of these beds cleaned. And maybe I’ll film myself getting these beds clean. Oh, over in that corner. I don’t even know where that came from. That looks like a morning glory. I guess the volunteer plants with the birds in my yard coming in and doing their thing. That’s of course you see the walkway is this is a mess, you guys. A complete and total mess. There are beans in these there. Snap peas and green beans and all of that stuff in these beds as well. So, I’m sure if I go in there, I’ll probably have a meal for today. Um, but I’m going to get out here sometime today. Of course, you see it’s kind of wet and get through here and get some of this stuff done today. Not how much, I don’t know. But just wanted to give you guys a look. There was in the midst of rebuilding this area up before I got the news about my cousin being in her initial accident. I was building uh a tall a tall flower uh vegetable garden bed there so I could do my strawberries. I got strawberries down there at the bottom of the pot and of course sweet potato over there. Yeah, I’m going to get out here today when I can after um this is my son’s birthday weekend. So I’m going to do something with him first and if not today absolutely on tomorrow get in. I see little tomatoes and things that I’ve kind of just let rot because of the things that I’ve been through. But this is what happens. I guess this is a representation of where my my mind and my heart and my spirit is right now. Oh, hummingbirds playing. Oh, they seem to love it. Um even though it’s overgrown and it’s not as beautiful as it was. They seem to love it and at least nature is getting something out of it now once I get out here and beautify just a little bit at a time so that um I can enjoy it as well. Um and there’s a side area but I’m not going to go over there today. It’s still in the slope and I’m still re building up over there. I’m putting all of my and that’s going to be an alley of of roses and crepe myrtles and other little nice little flowers. It’s the crate murders of course of course are there. My rose of sharing and things are there as well but it has not been started yet and I have to order some sand to build that area up. So um and it’s on a slope and I don’t feel like walking over there in the shoes that I’m in. If you can see my shoes. I don’t feel like walking over there in the shoes that I’m in to try and and steady myself on an incline like this is an incline enough. um Japanese oregano and uh blueberry tree. I don’t think I told you guys what that was before, but I’m going to get out here sometime today and get these things get some of these areas like I what I’ve been doing is a little bit at a time so that I’m not overwhelmed other areas so that the uh my yard and that is going to be moved up underneath the the big oak tree um so that we’ll have a picnic area under there of versus um what is that called? It has a really really nice smell. I can’t think my mind. It’s early in the morning you guys and I decided to come out because it wasn’t that hot today to kind of get a a an overview of exactly what’s out here and decided well let me record so I can have a record of this and um I guess I’ll share it with you all as well. Crepe I have crepe myrtles all over the yard of course. Um, I guess I can go back and see. I forget what the name of this thing is. It has It has a really really sweet and beautiful smell. Um, you gardeners, you know what it is. I can’t think of the name now. Um, but um, of course, it’s run over and it’s doing it thing. But, you know, I don’t matter so much cuz it’s beautiful like this. I will eventually get in and cut it back some, but as for right now, I can I’m loving the way that it’s looking. And I’m sure there’s a few um birds nest in there somewhere, too. So, maybe not this season. Maybe right around the fall, I’ll cut back so the the birds can know exactly where they can nest for the winter and get themselves together for the winter. Um well this is it. Um a lot overgrown shed myrtles again. Of course this is the other side of my vegetable garden. And you can see it has been cut recently but it needs to be cut again. I got to move my compost bin and um zenas are popping up everywhere. They just do their own thing um and cut all of this back. And this was the sitting area, but I had a good we had a really really good windstorm that came through. This is where I was sitting doing my potting and stuff when I wasn’t on the porch that blew into my um umbrella, my black and white umbrella there. And I’m debating on if it’s something that I may just get um one of my handy friends to fix as opposed to buying a new one because I hate throwing away, but it looks like it might be too far gone. So, I may just have to get another one. Um, this is it. Rosemary. All kinds of things over there. All kinds of goodies over there. I just got to get in there and cut it back. And a lot of this I’ll see if I can get my edger started up to get to get some of that cut back. It’ll be easier for me to do it that way. So, that is the run. Excuse me. That is the run of my yard. um back porch needed some work as well. But that is the run of my yard. And um I’m hoping to to to get things up and going. Well, I have been working on it, but to really really get a good run on getting some things done before it gets cold. I hope you guys enjoyed this. Thank you very much for watching and see you on the next one.
