New plants and garden plans! Check out all the new stuff I have and what my plans are!
Hey guys, it’s Brit. Welcome to my garden in northeastern Ohio, zone 6A. I already made these videos, so I’m sorry if I miss anything, but I just wanted to tell you guys about some of the new plants that I got and go over some of the things that I did today in the garden. And it’s getting dark, so I better hurry up and do this all over again because I already did it once. So, I’m gonna go over these pretty fast because, like I said, it is getting dark. But I wanted to show you, look at my blooming rose. Well, this is just a random rose that I got from Home Depot for like $30. So, the rose bush is doing pretty well right now. It was getting eaten up by aphids and other bugs that I I’m not really sure about, but I also just realized I got an Amazon package. Sorry, guys. Anyways, we got this trellus today, so I hope that helps make it a little bit better. I may want to paint it gray, but it does look much better on the porch right now. Uh, what did I wanted to go over? I don’t think I ever talk about this beonia with you guys. This is my coral hanger beonia. I don’t know the variety, but really pretty. I love this plant a whole lot. It is one of my favorite hanging baskets that I have. Doesn’t look that great right now, but maybe I’ll fertilize her and show it better. So, anyways, moving on. I did want to talk about my loopin. It is making a comeback thankfully. And oh yeah, this my boyfriend went out to Home Depot today or was it Home Depot or Lowe’s? I don’t know. But he said he found a really cool looking hydrangeanger and he found me a wedding gown hydrangeanger. It’s a lace cap. Let me see. Wedding down hydrangeanger. Hydrangeanger dancing snow. So, I’ve really I’ve been wanting a lace cap and I’ve been kind of been going hydrangeanger crazy lately. I did just watch an hourong video um on YouTube last night of I cannot remember these guys’ channel for the life of me, but I will post the link to it in the video. They were super knowledgeable and they brought another gal on and she talked all about they all talked all about the hydrangeas and these guys have almost 200 hydrangeas so they know their business and this is a limelight little lime hydrangeanger my sister picked up for me. I’m really excited about this one because like I said I’ve been going hydrangeanger crazy lately. So, I’m getting really excited with all of my new ideas and new plants that I have and the garden plants plans. These are my rescue plants that came in the mail with meie bugs. So, what I did is I stripped them down to their bare roots. I sprayed alcohol all over them. I made sure I didn’t see one bug on them. And I repotted them all because they were all in teeny tiny 4 inch pots. So I think I figured out what the guy was doing. He because these all came with Proven Winners’s tags, by the way. I got an oak leaf that is turning red. I think he thinks it’s fall. Okie do. It is pretty chilly today, which is very strange for July 31st. It’s like I have a hoodie on right now, so it’s like 60°. Don’t mind my mess. This is my gardening mess. But um Oh, yeah. I had uh I got these Japanese maples from that guy, too, that I talked about in a previous video that totally ripped me off. Like I said, sent me these plants covered in bugs. It was a disaster. I spent a bunch of money on them. And I did get a refund though. But I also had to strip the plants down. And if somebody not knowledgeable had purchased these plants, they would have all died. So, I’m glad that I have some plant knowledge, so I was able to actually identify what was going on. But yeah, so all of these came with Proven Winners tags, and they came in 4in pots. So, what this guy, I’m pretty sure, was doing was ordering these Proven Winners plants wholesale and chopping them up so he can make more money off of them. extremely shady business. Anyway, moving on. My sister’s beonia. Dragon wing. I think it’s dragon wing. Beonia. Uh, we had a storm over the weekend, so it busted up. So, she brought me over this. So, I’m going to try and propagate it and see what I can do. I just ordered this off of Etsy. This is a flamingo salosia. Why I’m ordering annuals off Etsy, I have no clue. I’ve been going kind of plant crazy lately. Um, my sister brought me over some of these, too. This is a new Lantana. Um, a passion flower plant. Purple passion. I think that’s what it’s called. And this is a Lenton rose that I just ordered off of Etsy. Not sure why the leaves are black, but I can ask him about that. Kind of confused, but I don’t know anything about Lenton roses. So, we’re about to find out. This is another Lenton rose. I think this is um what is it? Ch shot shotgun. And then he is sending me another one of these. But this was a red Vulcan labelia. Come on, Etsy. Um, but he was awesome. He he went and he said, “Anything that doesn’t look good, just go ahead and tell me. I’ll send you all new stuff.” Cuz look, this one is a black truffle labelia, some cutings of kolas my sister gave me. These are my house plants. I ordered some fennel so I can hopefully get some. I think it’s the Is it the swallow tails? or the monarchs. One of them like to lay their eggs on um fennel. Here’s a couple more Lenton roses I need to pot up before it gets too dark. Um look at my spider wart. Ohio spider wart. This came in the mail on Etsy, too. So, I mean, I just fertilized him yesterday. This is a milkweed. Joe, not the Joe pie. What is it? It is a milkweed of some sort. I It is It’s just a regular milkeed. I think this is my American Beauty plant. So, these three I got off of Etsy. Doing amazing. Here are the rest of my plants that I stripped down to the roots. Repotted, sprayed with alcohol. A lot of these are hydrangeas. And I think what is this? The big leaf. I don’t remember the names of them. I think this might be the blue jangles. Um, I don’t know. Look at my nine bark, though. There’s a nine bark in there. I got a lemon lace, elderberry, two little Japanese maples, uh, chtopa, desert orchids. So, I hope I saved these guys because once again, like I was saying, if somebody just got these in the mail and didn’t know what they were doing, they all the plants would have died cuz they wouldn’t have been able to identify all the bugs on them. But check out my passion flower. Hey, doing exactly what I want it to do. So, that’s exciting stuff. What are you doing over there, girl? I’ve also been having trouble with the focus on my camera today. So, come on, get in here, goofball. Hurry up, Miss Fly. Miss Fly needs a bath. Anyways, um this is what I really wanted to work on today was extending this, pulling this out, and getting the soil amended so I can make this my next garden bed cuz this is full sun all day. So, that’s exciting. Look at my crepe myrtle. I had to put a little bamboo stick to keep her up, but I love her. Love her. Love her. My sister brought me over a balloon flower. So, I’ve been wanting one of those for a while. Stoked about that. And she brought me over Veronica Speedwell. This is just the Lowe’s version. What is it? Veronica Fuchsia. Look at Senorita cl Rosalita Senorita. I am having trouble with this camera today. Anyhow, we’re trying to get this. Um, this is going to be another garden bed, too, because we have some shade over here. This is full sun. Um, this is where fun things are going to be happening. My boyfriend also brought me another rescue. This one is one I know I’m rescuing. I didn’t just think these were going to be perfectly healthy plants. I got another Japanese maple, but yeah, it doesn’t look like these leaves are doing too well. I do have it isolated because I haven’t looked it over yet, but it was on clearance for what was that half of 79. So, what about probably 40 bucks. So, I’ve been wanting a Japanese maple for a while. This is all going to be garden bed over here. She She’s so funny. Uh, I have to f I have to buy some fencing panels. We’re going to cut all these weeds down. Um, there’s so much fun things that are going to be happening, guys. My shade garden. I also wanted to work on this today, but I got more pavers. So, I’m going to be able if I hurry up with this video, I’ll probably be able to uh get this at least finished with the pavers and then get some more compost and top soil down and start my amendment process. A lot of these are new, too. Um I I’ve been going crazy on Etsy lately. Got myself a new little hosta. What is this? A France a Francancy Francancy hosta I think I wrote that wrong. I got some hukura midnight rose and let’s see I don’t know the variety of that hooker. I got silly string hosta a breastingham hosta. So yeah my shade plants. Oh, there’s also a still bee in here. So, I’m really excited about my bigger shrubs that I’ve been purchasing lately. I think I have a juniper coming in the mail. See, I don’t know. I don’t think there’s anything over here that I want to show you guys, but we’ll check over here anyways. We got a new Zenia. I’m gonna grow a lot more things from seed next year. I think that that’s the route that I want to take because I have a whole space to do it. And I’m going to buy a big old greenhouse and set one up on the property cuz we have two empty lots. So, I figure why not? Why not? Look at the gar. Probably should need to every time it rains these branches from the neighbors the gar tree fall down. But that’s okay. It’s worth having the flower bed here because this is a really good half shade, half sun, but when the sun, it’s like mainly mainly shade until like 10 or 11 and then it’s um all day. Look at my asparagus. All day sun after that. I know it takes a really long time for these to grow, but how cool. I grew these from seed. Actually, this is where my boyfriend’s Aaron is enjoying the whole plant life as much as I am. I love sharing a hobby with somebody. Look at this. Look at this. Look at this. So, this is the endless summer. I got these two wrong the last time I talked about them. This is the endless summer pop star. And that is just gorgeous. Even though these leaves in the back are not gorgeous, the bloom totally is totally totally. And then this one was a blue. It’s like a Home Depot brand hydrangeanger. So, I’m not really sure. We’ll see what happens with it, though. Um I did a I I trimmed all these plants uh the other day or all these flowers. So, should be looking a little bit better. Um, was there anything else I wanted to talk about? I don’t know. I just wanted to hop in here and kind on here and kind of check in and let you guys know what we’re working on back here. I have a lot of work to do tomorrow. So, I want to get this hydrangeanger in the ground and I want to get a bunch of my other plants in the ground. These guys, I want them to start uh recovering because these are all shrubbies and I want to figure out where I’m going to start putting my shrubs. So anyway guys, my other video was a little bit more thorough, but I lost I I don’t know. Something happened with the microphone. It wasn’t working. So hopefully the microphone works on this one. And oh, I wanted to show you guys. Hold on. Those black eyed susans really just make it pop pop pop in here. I re I’m loving it. Oh yeah, this is another new one my boyfriend said he could not resist. Um what is this? The big twister twister rush. I don’t know. He couldn’t resist it when he was at the at the Home Depot today. So, we have to figure out where we want to put this. No biggie. We We love all the plants we can get. Texas sage. Love when she’s blooming. I love the foliage on it. That silvery color. Anyways, look at the cone flowers, guys. And right next to the Zenia, I made a Zenia bush, I guess. I mean, these are beautiful. I can’t wait to just I grew all these from seed. And look at the Hold on. Look at the coloring on this one. Gorgeous. We have another one coming right here. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Did I just step on them? No, but I deadheaded. It’s so crazy. They just these little guys. I deadheaded them yesterday and look it. They just the cutest little ground cover. I got to figure out the name of this. I I always forget it, but I want some more of these. And I want them to be ground covering everywhere. Oh, yes. Sorry. The squirrel brain is real today. I was coming to show you guys the chocolate sunflower. Holy canoli. That is so gorgeous. On on camera it looks red, but in person it’s deep chocolatey. Beautiful. I mean, yeah, this is this was worth the wait. I can’t wait till the plum ones start blooming. I think this one might be plum. Not sure. Also, German Johnson killing it. These are heirloom tomatoes, too. So, who would have thought? This garden is a total mess. But that’s okay. It’s working. I’m excited about the yellow pears. Never had a yellow pear tomato before. So, look how cool they are. There’s tomatoes everywhere. We’re going to be having tomatoes coming out of our ears because there’s 21 tomato plants. Black cream. Okay, I think that I have addressed everything, guys. Oh, and we’re getting the new roof very soon, new windows, new gutters, and we’re going to paint the house. So, the excitement of everything and we’re extending this back patio. I just started this um this summer. We’re extending the back patio and I need to figure out how I want to design it because since the slabs are down, I want to make a border of something. I don’t know if I want to put pea gravel down or if I want to put river rock down and border it. Um I don’t know. I don’t know. Like I’m just excited. So much fun stuff is happening in the garden right now. So all right guys, I will check back in. I’ll probably make another video tomorrow because maybe I’ll have a little bit more done in the garden and I’ll be able to show you guys and yeah, that’s all I have for now to now tonight. So, I hope everybody has a blessed night and thanks for watching and going on this garden journey with me. Peace out, guys.
