I’m a little surprised this worked, I have seen snails stretch across a gap as wide as the rim to the brick. I guess it’s too much hassle and they give up before they get to the tasty treat. Congratulations on your intact hostas!

Nice, you could have just put a layer of insulation tape around the pot that works or watered the hostas with cooled down boiled garlic or onion water but your creative idea also works 🤣🤣
