Thought people might be interested in my banana plant flowering here in West Sussex. It has never done this before, but earlier this season all its new Leaf shoots were being attacked by squirrels. Then this bulge appeared and here we are.

Its a thing of beauty, mine flowered in the brecon beacons a couple of years back! It does mean that main stem will die bqck afterwards, but the suckers should be out by then!!

That is cool to see. I am not sure if you know but you can eat that banana heart.

We’re in Selsey, West Sussex and have had similar success. The teeny tiny nanas are amazing! Nice work. Loving that tropical corner ♥️

Same story here. Squirrels kept getting at my main stem, now it is flowering.

    Is yours a Musa basjoo?
