  1. Kaye our parents had a great life compared to us today. A fat good nothing tech did for us and we’ve lost all the solid knowledge

  2. Yeah, I have pretty much given up on the garden this year. Between weeds and deer .. impossible to keep up, plus the bug pressure. However, I too still have tomatoes and green beans I canned in 21 and tons of each and more in the freezer. So I am rethinking the garden layout, location and size. Time to scale down, since it's just me, the kids and grans don't get here more than once a year. We have Amish moving into area, so I have been able to source vegetables easily from them and inexpensive. Turning a lot of grass into wild flower meadows. Just small patches so I am not a slave to mowing! More pollinators and birds attracted to the flowers. I have hummingbirds without placing hummingbird feeders and all that sugar water, which can not be that good for them.

  3. We used to keep firewood in an old corn crib. Maybe someone could build one for you where you need it, and it could look cute if you want it to. My husband keeps neat piles of wood in the woods, close enough for easy access, with tarps over each pile.

  4. Maybe next year just grow enough tomatoes for fresh eating and fresh salsa. That’s what I do. I had 5 plants and it still was abundant. Gave to my neighbors and family too. And froze a gallon bag for some future sauce

  5. Lettuce is frost tolerant too. One time in Los Angeles my lettuces all layed Down after a frost. And they popped back up as the day warmed up.

  6. Good Morning Again Kaye – Yes it is very sad about the state of farming and how it is being changed from the old ways of regeneration of the soils to digitization of crops on every square inch. The older I get the more I resist new tech and all its fancy "think for you" gadgets. Hope your projects/plans this week go well and weather can help what remains of the garden. Harvest what you can and wait until fall/winter to plan for next year. You are not alone in having lots of canned goods to use up and freezers that are just too full for more. Have a blessed week…

  7. Good Morning Kaye, Well, before I watch this video, I must ask if I can buy seeds from the CELOSIA you pictured in your SHORT? Such beauty I need to add to my surroundings. Now, on to your video …

  8. Thank you for your prayers for farmers here in France Savoie, the evil forces them to Killing all their beautiful healthy cows, under evil made reasons like false positive tests …. we know the story…like the covid made thing…
    That is sooo sad…
    They try to resist…
    Just to let you know. The evil is after small healthy farms…
    Blessings +++!!!

  9. Could build a covered outdoor kitchen on one half have wood storage. A place to have shade in the heat of the day.A place to can. 📌

Taste yum,, im sorry I don't remember name, my gardening friend gave them to me as baby plants 😊. Grown outside so took ages to get some. I have been using my herbs,,I swap eggs for wee bit of veg,im growing curly kale for l a ter in the year.,do you have a bay tree kaye? Also myrtle, not crepe myrtle. 😊.perhaps in Time to come when the garden slow s a while,you and randy could make a little drawing of how you would like your wood shelter to be .😊,a little plan for future work.,maybe,,I hope you enjoyed your lovely mug of cacao. Bless you,hugs and thank-you s kaye,xx😊xx

  12. You can't compare big farms to small farms because both have different needs. If one tries to do more than they can handle, it usually falls apart. If you do what you can manage, it inspires you to continue.

    Yes, use a corrugated iron roof for your wood shed. Yes, continue to make fresh sauce and use the older batch to swap for other garden-related stuff like plants, seeds, and blah.

    It's still cold here in Australia. My friend just propagated her lilac by dividing it. Spring is near for us. I can't wait.

  13. Life hasn't changed as much for some older folks Kaye. I can't afford to run the AC, so I haven't so far this year. I pray more people start growing their own food. No matter what happens, we all need to eat. And I for one, don't really want to eat Purslane and drink Chickory root! Peace and Blessings everyone ❤🌻🏡🦋
