Hi everyone, 2 months ago I was helping clean up my motherâs yard and I saw these beautiful succulents! I just passed by today and saw they were dying. I canât help but wonder if I may have accidentally pulled out some roots thinking they were weed or something but is there anything I can do to revive this? Before and after photos.

It had nothing to do with anything you did
Where are you located? Do you treat them in any way? Has the weather drastically changed?
You pulling out a few roots wouldnât have done this. These are very picky plants and can die just by looking at them đ.
It does look like they are coming back. Could have been like a frost or something that killed the living leaves
They are alive. Looks like it could be over watered
Iâm pretty sure they do this in summer months. When the heat goes away they will be happy again and look amazing
This is exactly how I would expect them to look in the thick of summer, especially in a Mediterranean climate like yours.
They are native to what is more or less a Mediterranean climate (close enough). That means theyâre winter growers, they grow in winter and go dormant in summer.
If they donât or canât (often their roots wonât take in water even if itâs there) take in water, theyâll use the lower leaves to keep themselves alive.
Remaining foliage looks healthy and perky, and I see no sign of rot on stems or foliage.
My aeoniums planted in sunny areas also tend to look like shit in July and August, they’re dormant and they’re fine. Just make sure you don’t water too much during dormancy.
