Had this plant for about 5-7 years. Got it from the sad plant (discount) rack at lowes and it was in a 4in pot. At some point, it was so tall I had to repot it to keep the pot from falling over. It was fine for a long time in the glass (no drain holes) container. But recently I think I overwatered it. The leaves were shriveling and becoming translucent and soft–signs of overwatering from what I read. I removed and cut back some leaves. When I unpotted, the previously extensive root system was nearly gone. There were a few white ones left. I repotted in dry cactus soil mix in a pot with holes. But now what? Do I water a little bit or wait? Do I give it any plant food? Should I have cut off the bottom to try to repropagate instead? I don't know if I can save it, but I feel terrible about hurting my plant baby. Please help!

Your Aloe looks pretty alright, but in general Aloes do much better outside in full sun in the ground or in big pots so they can spread those roots (for most species).
