Final preparations for Taunton Flower Show underway
The garden took inspiration from the Moorish landscape principles, whereby despite arid conditions, Andalusian gardens serve as serene oases of respite and inspiration.
The garden’s planting is drought-tolerant yet rich in sensory appeal, featuring aromatic and fruiting species traditionally found in Moorish gardens.

People are really appreciating how dry this summer is, and the gardens of Andalusia have been a real inspiration for me.”
“It was a gradual process over a few months to build up this garden, with the actual build process taking four days.”
The garden features an intimate seating area framed by earthy terracotta walls and upright columns.
Shades of pink, burgundy, blue and yellow thread through the flowers and foliage, offering vivid contrast against the warm terracotta tones of the paths and structures.
Russell’s garden was one of three designer entries to this year’s Taunton Flower Show. You can find out more about Russell’s work by visiting: https://www.russellgoddenstudio.co.uk/
