I see cacti in torrential rains or other extreme conditions will pup at the top from no apparent areole and the pups can become thicker than the main stem. Flowers can turn into pups and pups can become flowers. It has been a weird year weather-wise, so I’m seeing my cacti express traits they normally have not shown yet before as well for the ones I’ve had for a couple years.
