Ch. Oh my goodness. Hello. I sacrif Hello everyone. I was away for two weeks and here what happened? Our petunius were fried from the heatwave and also because there was an issue with the eligation system. I’m so sorry. This one is worse because it compete for water with the sunflowers. Look at that. Oh, the soil is solid dry. Except that one because the crab murdle cast shadow over it. So, it got the protection from the sunlight. Turned out that they are so beautiful. But no worries if you can still see some greens on the leaf. you see some flowers and you see that the stem still green and strong and kind of moist, you have the chance to revive your pichunius. And this is what you do. Just cut it off like that. This time I’m going to cut it very hard because I want to rejuvenate them. Cut the whole thing out. And remember that when we planted them in this planter, we gave them a lot of compost, fertilizers, and a little bit of potting mix. That will help them revive very, very fast. And that’s why it’s so important that you should, you know, give them the good foundation from the beginning. It’s my gardening philosophy to give our plants what they need to make them as healthy as possible from them from when they were young. So they are strong from the beginning and they can handle any challenges like this. This seem very brutal and you think that you know I am killing them. Actually I’m not. I’m helping them. You don’t have to believe me now. You just have to wait to see the le result later. I got this tool when I visited my parent and my grandparents in Thailand a few months ago. And now it’s time to use it. [Music] When the temperature is below 50° Fahrenheit, you don’t need to water your petunia every day. maybe once or twice a week, but when it’s getting hotter, our preunas are going faster, so they’re going to need more water. And when it’s very very hot, like 100° or 90°, you want to water them every day because the dry the soil dry pretty fast. And this is what happen when you don’t give your patunia regular water, especially when it’s very hot. You can manicure them by, you know, taking off the dead leaves or maybe pruning it in a nice way. Maybe prune this one that stick out too much like that. But I am not even going to bother micromanage them because I know that they are going to grow back very fast because I trust in my process. This one looks pretty bad because it competes for water and nutrient with the sunflowers. But there’s still some side of green or survivor possibility. This one still seem pretty healthy because of the shade from the crayle here. But I’m going to prune it because of the consistency. And don’t throw away our petunia cutings because this will make good compost. And after it has been composted, you can use the compost to feed any flowers or vegetables in your garden or the petunius that we are going to grow in the next season. Now soak it with a lot of water like you are drowning them. Just keep soaking and then you will see bubbles coming up. That’s mean there’s airs in the soil. You want to fill the air in the soil with water. [Music] It’s the bubble here. [Music] And now soak it again to be sure. Just like when we find them in the very beginning. [Music] [Music] Our [Music] rubberas have bloomed beautifully. This is chim shimony yellow and this is Indian summer. This is the same variety but on the left side there are bigger because they have more space on the right side right here they don’t have a lot of space so they bloom smaller. This guy have more space because one of them didn’t make it. And you can see that big one have very big space in the front because some of them die right there. See there’s a lot of space right there. the space that they have extra. So, they bloom very big. This variety bloom a little later. Look at those. They are still small. Yep. All the red variety bloom a little later for some reason. But they’re so pretty. This guy are coming soon. [Music] We had a very big rainstorm last week, but our babies don’t flop because why? Because I’m very smart. I gave them the support, you know, right before they bloom. See, they can’t flop at all. Haha. This one over winter from last year. I don’t remember the variety, but it’s so cute. Oh, f all over the place. It’s kind of late at this point to stake them. So, I think I’m going to leave it alone and maybe later on I will come and cut them back. I just want to see them bloom. And that’s my rubia Indian summer that I have left. This guy are super big because they get a lot of space. This is only two plants here and they have all the space that why they bloom so big. Wa! It’s really big. And I am not kidding. Wo. Oh my goodness. This sunflower is very very tall. Probably like 12 or 14 ft because it get a lot of space. There’s no competition here except the little flowers like this corn flowers and the delinium. However, this is not the sunflowers that I started in spring. The bird dropped the seed here or the sunflowers from last year dropped the seed here and they germinated by themsel and look at them now wolves. And this is also branching sunflowers. So they sent out this little side branches which will produce more flowers for me right down to the bottom. Look at that. The white light sunflowers are blooming. Hello. Yep. You want to cut them when they are at this stage, but I’m going to leave this alone for now. Those sunflowers, I plant them very close to each other. So they produce very very small bloom which is good for you know certain kind of flower arrangement. I mean like hand tie bouquet you know you can’t have two big flowers in hand tie bouquet because that going to be very difficult to manage. These red sunflowers are growing very strong too. Finally, our group four snapdragon has bloom. And the variety that I grow in group four is Madame Butterfly because they are my most favorite variety because of their ruffle double pedals. You can’t even tell that they are snapdragon because their characteristic. And now also it’s time to show you the result of my experiment comparing growing Snapdragon in a rich soil with regular watering versus the Snapdragon that grown in poor soil and no watering. Oh my goodness. Look at the stem. That’s so so so tall. Oops. Oh my goodness. These are the longest snip dragon stems that I have ever grown in my life and I have ever seen in my life. Look at that. And now let’s compare to this guy. I grow them in very poor soil, no fertilizer, no water eligation, not enough sunlight. And look at the difference. I’ll cut it for free. Oh, look at this sad guy. This is crazy. I didn’t expect that I would see this much difference. Look at that. Does it fit in the camera? I don’t know. Look at the stem. And look at the one with poor condition. Only one, two, three, four, five, six. Six flowers in this stem. And for this stem, only two flowers. Now look at this one with perfect growing condition, fertilizer, compost, regular water, and full sun. Look at this. And now you know why your snapd dragons are not doing as good as my snapdragon. And that’s because you may not give them enough sunlight, regular water, fertilizer, and compost. Okay. And this is another experiment that I want to show you what would happen when you don’t stake your snapdragon. Look at them. They’re going to flop like this. And when they flop like this, when you cut them, you can see the flowers bending. I mean, it’s good, but it’s not, you know, as perfect for um doing flower arrangement. And again, when you cut snapdragon, you don’t want to wait until they blown open like this. Okay? You want to cut when them just about to open like this one. I mean this one is good enough for using it today like right now. But if you want them to last very long, you want them to open only half or maybe one/ird like this too. Okay. Our venium has bloom very beautifully. Unfortunately, I did not st them so they flop all over the place. But luckily, I can still cut them for flower arrangement. Shoot. going to cut the whole thing out. Chip. You can see they sending out new tubes from the bottom. So I can just cut this whole stem and just leave this baby here. They will grow later. There are so many variety of delenium. This variety is meant for cut flowers. So they bloom the first year. If you go other variety and they don’t bloom, you know, within the same season, that’s totally okay. just leave them alone and you can hope that they will bloom for you next year. I’m cutting them now because I don’t want them to go to seed. And just like every other cut flowers, you don’t want your flowers to go to seed because they will send a signal to the plant saying that they have done their job. You know, they don’t need to produce more flowers to produce more seeds. So, you have to trick them by keep cutting them. If you cut them at this stage when they have, you know, lose some of the pedals, they’re not going to last long at all. If you want a longer waist life, you want to cut them when they just open like this. Okay? Look fresh, look new, or when they are just about to open like this one. You know what I mean? If you don’t arrange your snapdragon right away in your flower arrangement and you want to store them first, I recommend storing them in a high tall vase like this. Okay, so when you put them in the vase, okay, the flowers should be upright like this. Okay, and now I want to show you what would happen if you don’t store them this way. I’m going to take one of this very straight stem snapdragon out like this one. Very very straight. Right. Going to put in this way. Very short one. And they kind of lean on 45° like this. Okay. Going to leave this alone. Okay. Boop. Actually I am going to cut all my snap dragon right at the ground level because there will be possibility that they can grow later in this summer and they might bloom again in fall. If not at least I get to date head this you know flowers so they don’t go to seed and they save the energy to produce more beautiful in next year. [Music] day as they need to start the rebuild of life. The roads that lay open are many when the old ones gone under the knife. And I can feel the sun on my skin. Begin to thought from within. [Music] Today, not tomorrow. There’s no time to borrow. Today is a good day to live. This morning have a clear light as I need to see the horizon and the far. Excuses were too for a penny. But they’ve all gone out the window of this car. And when I feel the wind on my face, all that ever was. Oh my goodness. I failed to tell you what I meant to show you. This supposed to, you know, become like curly like this. But they don’t do that because I think because the flowers has already blown open. Only the tip here that bend. If the stem still tender like this one, you see it’s very curly. And that’s because you don’t put them in a straight vase. The fruity patuli senior breeding project has bloomed prolifically. This one is benary giant salmon rose I think from Johnny Seed. Those are flor and the yellow one. This one from Johnny Seed um Benary Giant. And those are my favorite the new variety from Johnny Seed called Aurora. Look at the color. This is also a rollola from Johnny Sea. That’s benary giant orange and those are from Florida senas. This one probably alink glow senas from fret. It was my plan that I was not going to cut these seniors at all because I want them to go to seeds and then I collect the seed for myself and for also some of you guys who win who will win the um raffle. Okay. But today is my supervisor last day because she’s retiring tomorrow. Um, you know, and she’s has been coaching me, training me, giving me opportunity. Um, and you know, supporting me for seven years in my full-time job. And you know, I I love her. And yeah, I’m going to cut this sa which have very special in place in my heart for somebody who also have very special place in my heart. Usually I would cut sa pretty deep. Maybe like down here. But because I don’t want to sacrifice this one that’s blooming next. So I’m going to cut very short. Also some of this flower is senius. I hate to do this but I’m not happy with this one at all because the flower is too small. Um, I don’t want it to cross pollinate with the others. So, I’m going to pull the whole plants out. Yep. Just like that. Cut the flowers to use for the arrangement. Ah, this lollipop. So cute, too. That’s Oklahoma from Johnny Seed. That is like something golden Oklahoma from Johnny Seeds. And the lemony one here are from Florida. H unicorn. This one also unicorn from Florida. So cute. I’m going to cut the yellow one here for my boss. This guy very small because I grow them too close to each other. I should have given them more space, you know, but at that time I was running out of room. So I just squeeze them together here. I did not even pinch them. Goodness. Just like every other cut flowers, if you want the flowers to be big and bold, you want to start from growing the giant variety first, right? And also give them a lot of space, fertilizer, and compost. But this year, I learned the lesson again. You know, I was trying to challenge these senas, but you know, they don’t bloom big for me because of that reason because I didn’t give them enough space. To harvest rubas, you want to make sure that the stems of the flowers are strong enough to be cut. That mean when you wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle them, you know, the stem don’t do this. Like this one is not ready. You can see this guy not ready too. Okay. You want the stem to be like this. When you break away it, you know the whole flowers, the whole stem, especially the neck here don’t bend like this. You see going to cut that one. And where you cut them, it depends. If you want long stem, you can cut them right at the bottom like right here. Okay? But if you want to leave some of the flowers left on the plant for your garden, you will cut in the way that will not sacrifice the side branches like this one. Okay, let’s say I cut this one very long. I sacrifice this little butts, you know, that attached to the long stem. But if I don’t want to sacrifice them, I can cut around here to get the big flowers and leave the little small flowers on the plant. And I have this little one that’s kind of floppy, you know, doesn’t look organized. So I’m going to cut it and use it. Now I have organized row of rubia. And I get this stem for arranging. Our status have also bloom too. And this guy, you know, flop on the side because the rope the rope didn’t catch it. So, I’m gonna just cut this. Gonna use it for flower arrangement. There’s no rule about when to cut status. You can cut them at this stage when they are about to open, you know, which is kind of cute in their own way. However, I love when they are already open like this. But I’m not going to cut this one because I’m going to leave it for the garden. Cosmos always have very special place in my heart too because they are very first cut flowers that I grow and they never disappoint me ever. They are the easiest cut flowers that you can grow. Um if again if you want them to be big and bold and cute like this, you want to give them compost fertilizer and more water. Okay. Um but if you want to go like a wow style of cosmos, you don’t have to give them, you know, a lot of nutrient. up to you. But it’s also important to know that you don’t want to feed your cosmos with high nitrogen fertilizer. You don’t want to feed them with the fertilizer that you feed your lettuce your greens because you don’t want them to produce leaf. Okay? You want to feed them with phosphorus based fertilizer, organic fertilizer. I use flower tone from Epsoma and I have the most beautiful cosmos in the whole wide world. I am not going I’m going to stop talking about cosmos because last year I have made a masterclass video about cosmos from little seeds to little seedlings to young plant two big plants and then to harvest flowers and fl and flowers again and again and again throughout the season. So if you have not watched that video, you can check it out if you want to learn how to grow cosmos beautifully for flower bouquet. It’s so important that you cut your dalius very deep no matter what, okay? Because later on in the season, they will grow very very tall and they will flop so bad. So don’t feel bad to sacrifice these little side branches. Just cut at as deep as you can. Okay. About five or six years ago, I grew this hydrangeas. They were in a pot just like this big. Okay. And there are three of them. Six years later, they grow so fast and they bloom so beautifully every year. This is endless summer hydrange year. One of my favorite hydraria ever because the color because they so big, so reliable. The secret. Okay. To grow beautiful hydrangeia is to give them a lot of water. Hydrans come from the Latin term hydro and hydro means water. That’s mean they’re going to need a lot of water. Um you know last week I went to France and it was like so dry and the sun is very strong. And that’s explain a lot why you know people in France don’t really grow hydrangeas. But if you live in a climate that has a lot of rain, you know, and the temperature is on a cool side and you don’t get, you know, very full strong sun, I recommend growing hydrangeas. [Music] I have some blue and some pink in one plant and some of them are purple. We got heat wave the other day and you know my eligation was broken. So, this is so unfortunate. And here’s how I cut hydrant gear without ruining the beauty of my garden by going in the back of the bush. Okay? And then just cut a few stem to arrange for your flower arrangement from the back from, you know, the spot that nobody’s going to see if you cut the flowers. Going to blue one. Ch. Nobody’s gonna know that I cut this stem. Do you remember early on in the season in spring I cut this killer flowers all of them? Okay. And now they reloom. That’s why it’s so important that um you deadhead your flowers, okay? So they can reloom again for you like this. And this one is flopping too. So I’m going to cut it tip. It’s important that you want to put your hydranger in water right away. Otherwise, they will wilt because they need a lot of water. Good morning. Hello. I stopped cutting flowers that have bees sleep on it because I learned last year that the bees that don’t go back to their hive because they are old, they are retired and don’t they don’t want to be burdened to their family to their colony. So this make me feel really bad to cut the flowers that they have to be. So going to leave this one alone. It’s okay. This time I am going to do a traditional classic style flower arrangement. I am using this vase, okay? With the chicken wire with the tape. Then I’m going to fill the structural flowers like this hydrangeas like the big flowers. Then I’m going to fill with the fillers like little cute flowers. Then I’m going to add the you know focal the main flowers you know later on top of the fillers. And then at the last step, I will just, you know, add the accent flowers around in the arrangement to make them look cute, look whimsical. And you want your hydrangeas or any flowers to cover the edge of the um bowl. Okay. So, it kind of look more cute, more natural. There was something about you that day. I can still hear the shimmering sound. The hill is near. Let’s get right up. Walk up to the very top. We couldn’t tell the sky from the ground. I know my life will never be the same after that day. You wrap me around your fingers and you stay. I don’t ever want to be alone again. In spite of all, you’re my best friend. [Music] Let’s head down. It’s getting cold. All that glitter is not gold. And you are something I don’t want to miss.

Hi Crane! Thank you for sharing the results of your snap dragon experiment. I grew them this year in a new bed that I thought I put enough compost in and they didn’t look as good as I thought they should. So my guess is they need more compost! 😊. That bouquet at the end was absolute perfection!
Simpatico questo ragazzo thai ricorda il mio plastico thailandese il dottor Pat 😁… chissà se è ancora vivo …
