It looks in decent shape, it was just loose on the sidewalk. It’s pretty dried out but has a fair amount of roots still attached and although slightly turning white-ish it’s still strong and sharp haha
Any tips on how to save it?!
Thought I’d ask before I just stick it in some soil!

  1. Absolutely! Just needs some good cactus soil, a small pot and lots of light!

In my experience succulents are almost impossible to kill. Just stick it in the ground in a spot with plenty of sun

I wish I lived in a land where people just left plants for me to find on the sidewalk. Sounds magical.

    Congrats on the new addition

It doesn’t look super healthy, so don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t make it. The root ball & soil look similar to mine that dried out and became hydrophobic from neglect (sorry lil cactus buddies) which I was able to resolve by soaking the root ball in water prior to replanting. Not a foolproof method as I ended up losing a couple anyway due to overwatering while trying to revive them.

This had been stolen from someone’s yard and dropped as they escaped, I bet

You could always detangle the rootball and get rid of any loose soil, you newer know if it was the problem; so better to repot all fresh

  9. Always check for pests first when you pick something up.
