Chris and Sam Dowson, from Slessor Road, were named the winners of Foxwood Residents Association’s Garden of the Year contest for 2025.
The couple were presented with a trophy by Shirley Gumley, chair of the association, and Simon Cartwright, from local estate agent Indigo Greens, which sponsored the competition.

The winning garden was recognised for its range of flowers and shrubs, including agapanthus, hydrangeas, hebe, and photinia.
The Dowsons said that they love gardening, but initially though the award was a spoof.
Ms Gumley said she was “delighted that so many gardeners have dealt with challenging conditions this summer.
“It’s been the driest we have known, until the day of the judging!”
Mr Cartwright said: “We drove around looking at gardens in a downpour, but this one stood out for its colour palette.”
The competition has been a regular event in the neighbourhood over the last two decades.
