As mentioned, you’ll hear traffic in this video because there is a roadway between this part of the garden and the famous pond with lily pads and more.
Visitors needn’t cross the road itself, as there is an underpass, not far from where I filmed this video. You’re a minute or two away from the other portion of the garden.
Hi, and thanks for joining me on Travels with Sheila. We are in France, and I have been working to to document for you this spring’s travels in chronological sequence. It is July. We’re getting close to the end of July, and my goodness, I still have a lot of Scotland and England to show you, as well as Paris and more of France. In the interim though, we are in Claude Monet’s garden. Look at the irises. I’m going to put up another short soon to show you the variety of all these irises up close. They are beautiful. And you will see in some of this this video the home of Claude Ponet in the background with its its trademark colors. And so you can see I am looking from here toward the front of the house. Can you imagine stepping out from from your home onto the veranda because it is a long ver running the width running the width of the house and looking out at this really what a labor of love this must have been. You may hear some traffic noises in the background and that is because this is not one massive garden. It it is a massive garden by by many scales. Yet when you go visiting gardens, you often may expect a greater scale. When Monet moved into the home, he was initially a renter. He was eventually able to afford to buy it. And after that point, at some point after that point, that’s when he expanded the garden across the road to include the famous Japanese bridge lily pads, which you see in so many of his paintings. You may see a little butterfly there. And I was tracking it. Lands on a yellow flower. There we go. Look at the camouflage with the the green. And uh if not for being on a bright yellow flower, a vivid yellow flower, you it would have been easy to miss that little one. Do you like to garden? I would just love to have this this type of property. Germany is countryside. You are very close to the sane the river sain across it from the town of Vernal Velno or we would say here in Canada in other countries we would say Vernon and those arbors you see to the right of your screen we’ll come back to them in a second after closing in on these irises is beautiful in the spring you can see alium flocks different colors moes and whites and underneath and between these arbors when I was there in October 24. Picture this and you can find it on one of my shorts. A river of nersium. Just gorgeous. Enjoy. [Applause]
