First time lawn care guy. How do I remove all these weeds from in-between the brick?

Also do those bags of weed and feed actually work for the lawn at Walmart? Thinking of buying that for my yard but its a big yard and dont want to waste money on multiple bags that dont work.

  1. Pressure washer. Fill gaps with polymeric sand. Use a weed touch to maintain.

It’s not the best time for weed and feed, but yeah they work put it down early spring.

And for the weeds I recommend using some herbicide like glyphosate and then after everything dies pull it

I just did the 30% vinegar and dawn dish soap… Dead by the next day.

Canadian Tire and Home Hardware (and most garden centres) sell Roundup, but it’s locked up and you need to declare its for noxious weeds. I’m not a big chemical guy but the natural solutions just don’t work as well. They may kill some but not all.

Just pre soak the fence and house a bit…I’m usually torch in one hand, hose in the other. Or bring a friend…just don’t be a hoser…hoser is no fun.

Pressure washer is my favorite way to handle this. No chemicals and it’s oddly satisfying

Let them grow in a wee bit more. Then ask again.

By far, the best way to kill weeds, their seeds, and anything else in the general area, without using herbicides, or toxins is boiling water, or flame. Boiling water has obvious safety issues, but for a cheap, super effective, easy way to kill the roots, and any seeds that may pop right back up in a few weeks is this route. Operate with smaller pots to remain safer, remove any trip hazards from the heat source and the area to be remedied, and if you’re getting boiling water on you, clothes that soak and hold the water are not preferred, and naked is not wise either. Understand where the water will go once you pour it and don’t stand downhill. Just don’t be an idiot, pretty much.

Open flames like a torch on a propane tank is not as cheap as above, but depending on you, it may be way safer, and easier, and faster. This method doesn’t rely on depth for heat penetration so anything just below the surface remains intact so it may not be as effective.

Depending on the size of the area needed to be treated, and other specifics, these two methods are what I use.

Don’t use weed and feed, just use weed killer. Whatever is legal in Canada. Or do the salt and vinegar spray since you don’t need to worry about growing anything there anyways

Use a string trimmer, tilt the head of the trimmer at an angle and you can take them all off. Then spray them.
