The weekend was perfect.
But now it’s time to head home.
There are still pockets of delays on the northbound Garden State Parkway.
According to 511nj.org, there is a five-mile delay between Exit 98 in Wall and Exit 109 in Tinton Falls due to volume. There is also a 2.5-mile delay between Exit 89-C in Lakewood and Exit 91-B-A in Brick.
After a sunny weekend, people across the Jersey Shore will head back July 27 under cloudy skies. But it could be a busy one with Sunday traffic almost always posing a problem. Here are trouble spots to look out for today.
Delays continue in northern Ocean County, where a five-mile delay has backed up northbound Garden State Parkway traffic between the Toms River toll plaza and Exit 90 in Brick. A disabled vehicle has one lane blocked on the Exit 90 entrance ramp.
Another four-mile delay persists between Exit 98 in Wall and Exit 100-C in Tinton Falls.
The delays on the Garden State Parkway don’t show any signs of slowing down.
As of 2:25 p.m., there was a nine-mile delay between Exit 81 and Exit 90 due to volume, backing up traffic between Toms River and Brick.
There was also a four-mile delay between Exit 98 in Toms River and Exit 100-C in Tinton Falls, according to 511nj.org.
The backup in northern Ocean County has moved north. According to 511nj.org, there is an 11-mile delay due to volume between Exit 80 and Exit 90 on the northbound Garden State Parkway.
Delays continue north, with a 3.5-mile delay between Exit 98 and Exit 100-A, as well as a delay further north in Middlesex County.
As of 1:46pm, there are Delays and Pockets of Volume on the Garden State Parkway northbound from North of Exit 80 – CR 530 in South Toms River to North of Exit 90 – CR 549/Chambers Bridge Rd in Brick Twp. All lanes open 11 mile delay, due to volume.
Traffic volume has led to a 3.5-mile delay on the northbound Garden State Parkway between Exit 98 in Wall and Exit 100-A in Tinton Falls. All lanes remain open.
Volume on the Garden State Parkway is continuing to grow. A 15-mile delay has been reported just north of the Celia Cruz Service Area in Lacey up to Brick. All lanes are open.
There was also a backup in Wall Township on the Garden State Parkway. This one, also due to volume, is about three miles, according to 511nj.org.
According to 511.nj.org, there are delays and pockets of volume on the northbound Garden State Parkway between the Celia Cruz service area in Lacey and exit 90 in Brick, a 15-mile backup. All lanes are open.
A two-mile delay just north of exit 89-A has popped up for northbound Garden State Parkway traffic. There’s also a two-mile delay in Toms River, according to 511nj.org.
Garden State Parkway busy, moving well
After some minor delays early Sunday morning, the Garden State Parkway is busy, but moving as of 11:10 a.m. Traffic should pick up, usually as we head into the afternoon. While there is volume now, things are moving nicely.
