Ill take crabgrass any day over foxtail. They’ve reeked havoc on my yard and my poor dogs.

The hairy ligule would indicate it’s either giant or yellow. My guess would be yellow.
The purple base can be a great indication that it is the perennial version knotroot foxtail which is indistinguishable from yellow foxtail without pulling up the perennial rhizome. A closer picture of the leaf hairs or ligule would properly id the foxtail. The color of the seed head is an easy way to mistake the species.
Where this is located could be an easy way to rule out the potential for it to be knotroot foxtail.
