Just curious because we had a tree service come out 11 months ago and they didn’t touch this branch.

What the heck am I looking at? Is it just a 3-4’ section?

I’m assuming that is the piece that was connected to the main stem of your tree. It definitely has some fungus but without being able to see where and how it was connected to the tree it is hard to say what actually happened.

There does appear to be signs of white rot. It’s hard to say for sure.

  4. From what I can see it was a limb connected to a spot where there was a large limb that was cut. The cut from the large limb opened a way for a fungus to get in and start to decay the tree. That made the weak point where the limb broke.

  5. Tree service did some shitty cuts in the back ground of pic 2!
