I’ve had this little guy for about 3 years and it miraculously survived a 4 month stint without water last year, but it dropped a lot of its leaves and I’ve been nursing it back to health ever since. I repotted it back in May to give it a more well draining mix and it’s been growing well, but lately a lot of the leaves have started to curl.

It’s been in an east facing window with no curtain, and I water when the pot feels light, about every 2+ weeks or so. Is it getting too much sun? I’ve seen other VSOH go deep pink when put in direct sun so I’m not sure what’s going on.

Might it need to put it into a larger pot? It has a LOT of tubers inside and is relatively root bound, but I know they like to be squished.

I also would love some tips on filing out the top. I’ve tried chopping and water propping, soil propping, coiling, but it’s been hit or miss, and I’ve never gotten coiling to work. How do you guys fill out your tops so much???

I’d change the soil, coco coir, coco chips, perlite etc. also bottom water

Forgot to mention! I exclusively bottom water with reverse osmosis water with 9-3-6 fertilizer added

I only say this because I have never fed mine, ever… but maybe it’s the fertilizer? Either way, I’d follow the instructions of u/Skyeinjuly. I’d also maybe move up to a slightly larger pot, and curl some of the strings over the soil and add a little soil on top of those strings. This will encourage new root formation and thus new vine formation. See my profile for my VSOH.

  4. I’m currently in much the same boat. Figuring out a watering schedule for mine that works without causing them to rot or not giving them enough has been my constant battle. I’m about ready to just throw them outside and see what happens.
