I have this plant placed on south facing window. I don’t know if this is considered direct sunlight. Is this good appt for her?
I had it in my bed room with low light and it was making new leaves but very slow and it kind of stopped making new ones so I brought it to this window. I water is when the soil is dry maybe like once a week or longer. The pot has good drainage.

from what I know for the ZZ, it requires little light in any case for my part especially not direct light, mine is in a little shaded corner, you can water it once a month and it tolerates ++ forgetting, if you water it too much the bulb it has will rot and it will die… its growth is very slow!
That looks like direct light to me. You could keep it there and keep a real close eye on the leaves for discoloration or crispy edges. It will grow faster with bright indirect light rather than low light, so you could put up a white sheet over the window to diffuse the sunlight. That would be ideal light for it if you’re ok blocking your window with a sheet.
Watering ZZ once a week is too frequent. I have one that is slightly bigger than yours, and I water it once a month. Too much water will rot the Rhizomes (potato like roots of ZZ).
It may be too much light. If the corner doesnt get quite so much light, id slide it to the corner of the window. ZZ’s like to be “snug” in their pots. Its okay in this pot but if you want it to be as happy as possible, in a little smaller, clear pot so you can watch the roots would be ideal. She’s a cutie!
If its not growing its usually a root problem. Low light levels cause it to reach – it will be long and weak, with new growth at the tips. So the issue isn’t light, its likely beneath the soil.
First I would check the drainage holes in the pot for roots. Its possible it needs a pot one size bigger. Don’t go too big too fast – its just like overwatering, but the pot is small and eventually the roots will need more space, so its wotth a look.
Usually the issue is water, too much or poor drainage. Zz roots need access to air as well as moisture. When things are too wet, they can’t support any more foluage, so growth stops. Eventually leaves will start to yellow and fall off – as the rpot system shrinks the foliage will too.
So aim for damp soil 2″ down, never wet. This means good drainage, it doesn’t want excess water to hang out inside or under the pot. And don’t be afraid to wait until the top inch or 2 of soil is dry before watering.
