hey there I’m Casey welcome to my garden in Tampa zone 10A today is June 15th 2025 and this is our garden walkthrough video check it out so before we get started too much on the garden tour this month we went out and we bought the real Sropia Peltada so it’s going to be getting planted so during the tour we’re going to be replacing some trees so Ariel’s out there pruning out some trees and I’ll show you where we’re going to put the ccropia but out front our Chinese perfume is loaded we have a lowquat this is a mountain sour shop it was supposed to be the marcotta but it’s mountain so he is getting taken out completely removed and we’re putting a super prolific sour in its place the first fruit tree kind of is pickering and it’s still loaded i’ll show you from a different angle and it’s got basil all around it and this is orange sherbet we have not harvested any of these yet our sugar cane is not looking like it’s coming back up for the third year so we’re going to replant that but outside the garden there’s all spice and beauty berry there’s a wampy over there inside though this is oo laala avocado yeah there’s lots of them on there and then of course we have longevity spinach it’s ground cover all of our um moringa or drumstick plants are loaded can eat these like asparagus um this is one of our jabotic cabbas and then there’s a mulberry over there and this is florgon [Music] next to the fake sour is a peanut butter fruit and it’s loaded in flowers and there’s little fruit on it yeah here’s one not quite ready yet so these little berries they look like this and they’ll get more red and a little bit squishy and they taste like peanut butter so there’s a bunch of them on there and then back there is Gana this is a ketamia and there’s a Cape gooseberry on the ground and then this is a butterscotch seapodilla so good oh look so I’ll show you where all these caterpillars are coming from but this is a polyamus caterpillar and he’s about to make his chrysalis on a sapodilla cool so this is the front yard it’s getting super dense it only rained like 2 in over the past few days there’s Chia um this mango is Venus venus broke two branches we didn’t thin it enough and I didn’t support it enough and two branches broke but these wave so I don’t even know how much they weigh they’re very very big you can see where the two branches broke first this one went and then it lost structure so then the next morning this one went but it’s okay we’ll figure it out we have such a high density garden that it was going to get heavily pruned anyway um before we move too far it’s pretty cool um this is Amistad Salvia and up here above it is a jackf fruit this is the my one jackf fruit and it was covered in flowers oh look there they are so I got a bunch of flowers coming nothing was pollinated this is the third year still being patient um that’s just a really cool Thai yellow papaya and those caterpillars were feeding on this vine this is a Dutchman’s pipe vine but you can still see them they’re still eating so they’re everywhere we were going to cut this Barbados cherry it is like Wow it’s about 8 ft but we wanted to keep it like chest high or smaller but because of the um caterpillars in here we can’t prune it when I was walking in here yesterday I saw a whole bunch of them going up in their crystis but I can’t find them cuz they’re camouflaged like a leaf but it’s getting really dense in this little walkway oh here’s um so next to the Barbados cherry there are I think those are dwarf Cavendish bananas pretty sure this is a miracle fruit there were berries all on it there are some coming we gave them to a kids summer camp and little kids got to experiment with it so it was cool um this is lemon mering mango we harvested our first few oh there’s bugs on it got to deal with that so these are lemon mering we just harvested our first off of there we didn’t get to eat them yet though in that corner that is a black sapot the rine it flowered it just flowered but none of them held don’t know why it flowered last year too i think it’s like three years in the ground one of the blueberries died this is a governor’s plum and that mango is Honey Kiss and there’s a whole bunch of different blueberry bushes this is a violet de Bordeaux fig in there and then this is a Vietnamese pomegranate there were pomegranates you can kind of see up there so this is the only variety that really does anything here the Vietnamese Vietnamese variety this is the other corner of the front yard again there’s another moringa next to the really large Barbados cherry there is a groom chama which is a Brazilian cherry and here’s a blood leaf which is just a really pretty plant uh this is a painters cherry lada got fire bush and behind here is a black surinam cherry we’re going to be removing it eventually i say that all the time but I don’t like it there’s a whole bunch of flowers back there it tastes like tire fire very reinous and these bananas are the Namla they’re really good all right so out to the backyard if you’re following me on Facebook you’ll know that the Jamaican cherry is just just died uh this is the bread moringa this is the PKM1 and it’s bred to have shorter pods more pods so you can eat them yeah has a nice structure to it and underneath of it is fruit punch and fruit punch has pineapples everywhere and we’ve got the sunshine mimosa ground cover responds when you touch it florida native ground cover it thrives on neglect and it gives you really cool pink Dr seuss flowers so there’s the Namwa he’s about to throw his flower soon they’re pretty tall they have more fire bush and then sapphire showers also called also called golden dew drop and I’ve got some orchids under there um this mango is coconut cream then behind it is a huge sweet almond but that’s going to get cut out grows way too big and the coconut cream is taking over this whole area and then back there is a noni it’s a cestrum then back there is a lion’s tail hibiscus um that is a tropic pink guava and this mulberry has three mulberries this is a Shanganger and Chiang Mai 60 and then over there is Skinner but we have not pruned it it’s kind of big but it’s going to get pruned to about four or 5 ft like the other one i’ll show you in a minute and this is another mango this is M4 a late season monster oh I didn’t see that there’s even another one um back there is a Morena Sapoia coffee this is a chaa a lot of people ask why don’t we have like a chaa but we do i just never show it off really this is the front corner and then we made this pond out of just chicken wire and concrete it was pretty cool then we have China jackf fruit and Brazilian candle i love my flowers here is a giant powderpuff tree supposed to be a dwarf it’s 10 years old and under it are a whole bunch of orchids and other ornamentals let me go look at this one this is Brazilian candles one of my favorites and we got orchids mounted to the tree on this island it starts with a silus wood sapodilla we’re trying to air layer it still has flowers and a bunch of fruit from before earlier they take forever to ripen this is our dead strawberry tree we told it we were replacing it and I’m thinking just being silly that it’s telling us to it’s going to show us and it made so many berries and it’s killing itself but we’re going to replace this with the real gummy worm fruit so it’s going to cover this island give more shade these are more shade loving plants like this is a fireball molo then I have my beautiful Chinese perfume these yellow flowers smell like perfume all back there is Dutchman pipe vine it brings in the polyamus swallow tail again this is a monkey jack lucha everybody should have a hot tub in the back of their forest and there’s some red sp the red fire spike is coming we’ve got bat plant this is how we’re going to keep the mulberries so this is World’s Best and I grafted Rosy’s giant to it and you can see we tipped it and made lots of berries and in this back corner is a passion vine with a butterfly vine and this mango is pina colada as well as orange essence so we follow this trail there are helakonas in that back corner under here are two um kimitos the Burgess and the Lara House Purple both delicious all this is the golden torch helakonia they’re coming they’re coming this is a white sapot the Campbell variety we’re going to top work this to two other varieties just not sure what yet see the tropical lilac this is an ice cream bean there’s dragon fruit going up the trellis and then we have this beautiful magenta plumeriia oh there’s also pineapples on the ground there’s another loquat on this island and this is Chocet avocado the dead strawberry tree and then this is white chocolate jasmine it gives you white flowers i’m looking for some that smell like chocolate i don’t see any it just flowered that’s coffee this is a very large now um starf fruit and it’s flowering there’s lots of flowers in there and on the ground this is clatus smells great those two papaya are shading a cacao can’t really tell the difference this is fire spike it’s back there with the longer leaves but this tree is aki and there are two aki fruit i think there’s more so you can see them the red these papaya are the Hawaiian solo so they’re actually pretty good they’re not musky like the other one this is pineapple pleasure mango this is a pagota flower this is the mocock another sapodia this tree is Tahesian hat it’s one of my favorites has pink little caps with purple flowers that come out this tree is a sherbet berry it’s also called falsa it’s more of a like a drinking like you got to juice it doesn’t have a really appealing texture and then there’s more pineapples and that looking dead thing is the coach jackf fruit in this corner is a rani avocado and then there’s an A-rew canistell all of this on the ground is seminal pumpkin because our compost pile was in this corner so it’s a volunteer as well as the callaloo but this is Chief Kubo edible leaf hibiscus it’s really good back here see if I can get in here these are lobster claw helakonas they’re super fuzzy they’re all coming and then behind the avocado is more fire spike wow you work fast so over here we have this custard apple we’re going to be removing it because it’s not a San Pablo and we’re going to be removing that Barbados cherry and there’s a guava behind Ariel is Rosie Gold and he just dug up a fake cropia this very fake yeah uh this is a kyito this is the epolito that is a panka tuba that’s a golden nugget jackf fruit that is a cassia for the butterflies this is male sapodia and then this is a really good custard apple it tastes like raspberry yogurt in the beds it looks like they’re dead but there are strawberries in the beds this is where our nursery plants begin now this is the last section of the garden and this tree is another white sapot this is the Campbell we have two Campbell that’s Baldwin’s can of edgulus this is a Gffner atoya and it has little fruits on him in this front corner is a green sugar apple but it’s being annihilated by the leaf hopper going to make a video about that soon then between each of the trees is a different colored boenva this avocado is Lula yeah she’s got a bunch of fruit in her and this is a trump canistelle it might have fruit on it it’s been flowering like this for a few years but nothing yet in the raised bed we have pineapples in this one and turmeric in that one that is namok my number four this is Simmons avocado and then that’s ice cream mango this against the house is monkeykey’s brush i can’t wait to add the flower and then by the driveway this is a juju bee this is the Thai giant it’s like an apple alternative cuz apples don’t grow here see nomoc amazing this is a Miami sour sop it hates being in a pot it’s never flowered i don’t know what we’re going to do with it um this is Redlands and Young Hands white sapot they’re double grafted and then this is a root beer plant root beer plant is really good makes great teas and you can wrap meat in it and cook it but I would not recommend planting it because it is taking over over there is an Alano sapodilla we have the gigantic passion fruit on the fence and then in that corner there are two mamemes i don’t remember which they are and then on the fence is a perennial cucumber and let’s check out our ice cream mango so ice cream is the only one that we bagged because we don’t want them to drop so if they drop hopefully the bags will catch it these are one of the best mangoes so there you have it that’s what our garden looks like in June the rain really hasn’t started yet we got about 2 in the last 4ish days the garden is definitely responding and loving it but I can’t wait for the real rain to come here because everything is still really dry if you’re in Tampa we propagate all the plants out of our garden and have an edible plant nursery called Food Forest Finds it’s right up 1. Very nice, tons of stuff in that space. I’m very curious to see how it develops as the years go by. Keep the updates coming.

  2. How to those neat yellow papayas taste? and has the sweet almond ever produced for you at that size? Beautiful food forest 🙏

  3. Omgosh, I love all the flowers all throughout the garden! ❤ What is the name of the variety of fruit that you said tastes like raspberry yogurt?

  4. Thanks for doing such a detailed walk through. Glad you covered what avocado varieties you have in your forest. Are you planning on doing an avocado specific video about them?

  5. Food Forest goals! I appreciated your mentioning to grow Root Beer plant in a pot. Wondering if you would mention other things you recommend growing in pots for various reasons. For example, do you happen to grow figs and mulberries in pots due to root knot nematodes (RKN) or do you not have an issue with them?

  6. Im in zone 10b and would love to learn how I can setup my own food forest. I got a nice size yard to work with!

  7. New subscriber here. Great video! Where did you get the mountain soursop tree? I’m looking for one. Thanks

  8. What a great variety of fruits/edibles you have in a small space! I love that you are waiting to prune so the caterpillars can feed. Thank you for being so conscientious of others that share our world. Fun tour. Thanks for sharing.

  9. What do you mean " Fake Soursop" I just bought one last year, so how can I tell what kind of Soursop it is? Can you please tell me where to find more information on this?

  10. Thank you for the tour update. Everything is looking great 👍.
It’s so crazy that I am just 45 minutes north from you guys and struggle to grow these topicals. I have my mangos in pots.

  11. Great stuff. How often/ how much do you water the edible landscape? I am sure something as impressive as your garden requires a good amount.
