I convinced my neighbor to let me remove the rocks around our spruces.
For 20 $ of mulch and some elbow grease, I am pretty happy with the result!
How did I do?
Hope the trees won't die now so I can talk to him about the mulch volcano around his young tree!

I just did the same this morning around a juniper at my place and it looks so much better. Love those big roots you freed! Hopefully someone knowledgable will weigh in about how it looks. It’s nice to feel like you’re giving your tree a better chance. At least, that’s how I’m feeling right now!
