A new reading area has been built by apprentices for a local school.

The apprentices at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties constructed the reading area for Sarisbury Infant School as part of their work at the Bramley Park development in Warsash.

The new area, which includes benches and a large reading chair, replaced an old structure that was removed due to being “rotten and unsafe.”

James Swift, a reception teacher at Sarisbury Infant School, said: “The reception children at Sarisbury Infant School are thoroughly enjoying a newly revamped reading area in their garden.

“This transformation has only been made possible thanks to the kindness and generosity of Taylor Wimpey and its apprentices, who created the story chair and benches.”

Roz Wells, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “We’re pleased to have helped the school in replacing its much-missed old reading area, which had unfortunately become unsuitable for use.”
