I saw this rather stylish Dracaena Marginata from the.plant.daddies on Instagram. I have a similar room with a very high ceiling in which the plant would look great. How would I turn the Dracaena Marginata from Ikea into this one? Obviously it would need to grow a bit – but how would I do the leaves and the round branches?

I’m pretty sure patience is the biggest factor (this is years; likely decades of growth); second to that would be providing good lighting and routine fertilizer.

    Takes a few years 😉

Lots of lights, water, fertiliser and stable temperatures will help you along the way, but it’s going to take forever

Yep, Time is the key! But these dracaena grow pretty fast and lush if you give them light and a good fertilizer. In a beautiful shallow pot, they look gorgeous even when they’re young

I am also obsessed with plant daddies dracaenas, I’m thinking they bonsai them with wire, and some of the growth patterns look like they’re manipulated through etoliation. One day I want to try and my strategy will be a lot of wire and alternating high and low light.
