Bought this property last year and have been watching this guy closely. Seems to be healthy but it's quite a bit of bark that came off at some point. Thoughts on survival?
im no expert but that canopy is looking happy, it also looks wicked cool.

Nice green foliage and thick canopy but one of the worst spots for damage.
Probably wouldn’t hurt to have a certified arborist comeout at take a look. Maybe a small amount of pruning to help reduce some tip weight, help with wind sail, and remove any large deadwood

It looks fine. They can take a licking’. They are all over my neighborhood! Messy, glad they’re on neighbors yard!
