Those are some pretty big and pretty high holes. It looks more like lawnmower to me.

Looks like things that happen when you have kids

  3. Vegetable-Ad7263

Reminds me of the damage I did with my pellet gun back in the day…

Did it hail recently? Could be that or someone shot it with a bb or pellet gun. Check for little bb’s or pellets.

Seems too high up for a lawnmower or weed wacker.

    BB gun.
My wife shot at something on my patio and it ricochet up into the siding.

    Looks just like this.

If they don’t go all the way through, pull a panel off and see if the BBs are trapped inside.

Document and set up a camera.

I’m betting you have a neighbor with a son that’s in the 10 to 16 year old range.

I flung a rock hard enough to break a car window couple years back…. $300 down the drain.

Needs closer pics this shits a mile away

There’s too many big holes to be a weed eater imo. Someone would have to be pretty stupid to cause that much damage and not notice.. My bet is a kid with a new toy, sling shot or pellet gun

When I lived in Montana all the vinyl fences would look like this after a hail storm

Yes, cheaper vinyl fence will do this when hit with weed Wacker, my neighbors fence did this when I walked thr property line, but my fence did not do this. Must have been thicker material on my fence.

Looks more like lawn mower shrapnel to me

  12. Garden_Espresso

The fact that the holes are are different my guess is weed wacker & rocks .

Not a string trimmer, maybe a Stihl combi cutting head.  Lawn mower would do it in that spread too. Or bb/pellet gun.

Looks like PVC termites. Easily fixed by bringing in a few Carpenter Bees. They do good work with their little bee hammers.

You should post this in r/forensics lol

  16. How does one go about hiding these holes? Do they make patch kits for these fences?

  17. EmploymentNo1094

Get a pile of rocks and a Weedwhacker and find out

Could this be caused by a weedeater? Yes and you will find lots of gravel on the walkway nearby. Chances are good like the others I think you will find Pellets or BB’s. Could also be hammer marks from a 2-3yo. 😉

If the vinyl is really old and sun-bleached/brittle then.. maybe. Otherwise aint no way a lawnmower or string trimmer is putting a rock through 2 layers of vinyl.

My money is on bb or pellet gun.

  20. At my prior house, this started happening to my neighbors fence, it was from Home Depot. My kids kicked a soccer ball at it and it made a soccer ball size dent/hole in it, so it doesn’t take much. Kids were 6 and 3 yo too. Thankfully neighbor never noticed as that part was behind a bush 😅

  21. HatePeopleLoveCats1

Or a bored neighborhood brat throwing rocks at your fence.

  22. Financial_Pirate_347

Probably find the bb or pellet at the bottom of the slat when you take it apart

  23. PieTight2775

Vinyl fencing is advertised as being so durable but I’ve seen so much damage that would never happen with wood.

  24. jkrobinson1979

Are those fences really that cheaply made?
