Holy crap! I just bought one for my mini meadow and now I’m scared to plant it! 😄

Oh I have a bunch of these popping up in my meadow lawn (first year, still figuring things out). They are so tall, but I’ve kept them because I want the flowers to bloom.

Definitely a plant worth controlling. It’ll take over and the stalks get really woody.

Its just a matter of management. I find my “meadow” clients generally think “meadow” means no management, and it can be. But only if you select low-maintenance plants. No harm, no foul. I have both the yellow, horticultural EP and the native EP, which is wilder but smaller. So fragrant!

I live in the city, and a lot of neighbors have this growing in the alley. Probably not intentional, but nobody controls it. I had a bunch pop up in my garden and start taking over REALLY quickly. I ended up having to yank it all out, which was not easy. 😖

EP is on the list of plants the guy helping me with my meadow is very cautious about including in a meadow mix. Others include senna and yarrow.

I winter sowed this guys and was going to plant some tomorrow. This is good to know. I do have an acre, so it can fight with the other aggressive guys I have. I just wish they all weren’t yellow.

I regret planting it. It’s a drama queen plant without much payoff.
