hey beginner gardeners here’s some tips for fertilizing your plants during summer most plants that are grown outdoors will have their biggest explosion of growth in those warmer months late spring early summer and depending on how fertile your soil is or what type of potting mix you use you may need to supplement with fertilizer granular fertilizers take a little bit longer to break down than liquid fertilizers those nutrients won’t be as immediately available to your plants but they’ll feed your plants over a longer period of time granular fertilizers are great for plants that are going to be growing for a long period of time things like onions garlic potatoes they’re also great for perennial plants that you’re growing in containers liquid fertilizers will give your plants nutrients faster so they’re great for correcting nutrient deficiencies or for plants that grow really quickly things like annual flowers however if the plant draws it up too quickly it can cause fertilizer burn to avoid this you want to add this fertilizer when your plants are more hydrated so early morning or evening if your soil is really dry water it first to get it hydrated and then add your fertilizer and remember the more you build up your soil with things like compost organic matter crop rotation cover crops the more fertile your soil will be and the less fertilizer you’ll

Omigoodness, we've had so much rain that I had to use granules bc don't want to give them any extra water.
I use the dried chicken poop , but use it sparingly as it will burn.
