The wooden bottom is going to be an issue. Not sure how to best go about managing that though

OK, first off, this beautiful thing is more a cloche than a terrarium container. Really no room to hold a substrate. So if it was me I’d find some sort of low flat pot or plantable dish , say maybe 4” deep. Roughly. Doesn’t necessarily need drainage holes, if you’re careful with watering. Plant a beautiful, natural dish garden arrangement, complete with rocky features if you like, and put it in this great leaded glass cloche. It’ll look very nice.
Looks like you have a reasonable amount of height in there, so you can choose from quite a wide range of plants.. You could fill empty spaces on the base with pebbles, or leave it bare. It looks like the base is wood, so you might want to think about waterproofing it somehow.
That’s how I’d approach it. It’s really nice. Great find!
