It is growing randomly throughout my yard. Any thoughts on how to get rid of it?

Slime mold! Your mulch is mulching! Maybe a but damp.

Oh how fun, I ran into this for the first time a few weeks ago. But it’s [slime mold](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuligo_septica). Only way to prevent is to reduce watering and limit organic nutrients. But it’d gross, I thought my dog had thrown up, and strangely enough it’s known as dog vomit mold.

It’s dog-vomit slime mold. Yes, that’s really what it’s called. And it’s harmless. No action needed on your part. It will turn brown, and get a crust. If you touch it or water it, it will release a bunch of brown “smoke” which is spores. But it’s all completely harmless and actually kinda cool to poke at.

I deal with this at my landscaping job. Like everyone says this is dog vomit slime mold, humidity and natural wood mulch will do that. then it turns into a black powder and disperses if stepped on or wet. only causes mild irritation if you have asthma otherwise harmless. Just funky looking lol
